New one:
Why are half the thugs portrayed in manga, look like black men? I mean how many black people can you see walking through the streets of Tokyo?
(ie. Masa-san from Seto No Hanayome even tho techinically he's japanese he looks black)
Another example is that thug looking guy who's pretty nice in Hatsukoi Limited.
That's hilarious. Another example is Tokyo Tribes 2

You mean 5 colors. White, Black, Red, Yellow and Brown.

Do you think it's racial stereotyping? Then again, they could just have a tan and an afro.
Could it not be disregarded much like how characters have pink, blue and green hair and eyes? Maybe mangakas are influenced by the music videos on MTV 😕 Now that I think about it, I notice sometimes Middle School kids look like they're adults, etc. I mean, it's manga and without such discrepancies with real life the characters would have less personality I think.

Back to a previous question that wasn't really answered, do Japanese teenagers boys/girls really mind that indirect kiss stuff? Before I started watching anime my friends, male and female, use to steal my drinks and my food without hesitation. (Kinda annoying sometimes, but I didn't really care.)
Then after seeing this indirect kiss thing in anime I became concious of it and tried to see if any girls/boys at school felt the same way. (I live in AUS). Not one girl/boy really cared, those that did were more concerned about sanitation than anything else, so it doesn't really count.
I know funkmu1 already responded to this question BUT... do Japanese teenagers really have a thing about indirect kissing?!
The world would be a bleak place without manga.

I'm not sure about indirect kissing because I haven't actually seen it being done by two people of the opposite sex. We used to drink from each other's cups all the time in my dorm, but we were all women so I guess Japanese girls don't have an issue with it if it's the same sex. I don't know with men though...

Okay... I'm probably going to sound ignorant, but don't Americans have karaoke too?
I know that I live in a very... "Asian" city since over a third of the population is Asian but... I always thought Americans already knew about karaoke... Like karaoke in "My Best Friend's Wedding"
About indirect kissing... Well, among my American friends, indirect kissing doesn't really matter. But when I'm with my really Asian friends, it's weird to eat after someone else. We have to "waterfall" when we share water bottles.
And Asian afros aren't that .. rare. One of the contestants in Taiwan's Xing Guang Da Dao had an afro. And he was a native of Taiwan.
Btw... A question for the more.. white? people of the forums. This coming from a.. fobby Asian person. Do you use a lot of different cleansing stuff? Because Asians use like... facial masks, eye masks, nose masks, pimple masks, cleansers, toners, and the list goes on... And everyone probably has heard of the double eye-lid tape and glue... So, do "white" (I guess I should say non-Asian) people use that too?

If I'm sharing a drink with friends and it ain't mine. My lips aren't going on it. Just for sanitary reasons. We know karaoke, we just don't partake in it. That's what Guitar Hero was created for.
