EDIT: Japanese people have to be the most perverted group of people in the world, can I get a clarification on this? It says it (indirectly) in wiki, and directly on a G4TV poll (with Germany, the US and England behind japan).

I'm not sure what you mean by perverted, but if you mean hentai, yes, they are very open about it. Hentai stores don't even try to hide hentai---it's just there displayed for everyone to see. Most major manga buildings (like gamer and animate) have a hentai section that's usually in the basement, and anyone can just go in there. See, kids are in the ground floor searching for the next Naruto volume, but just beside them is a set of stairs with posters of naked women on the wall, leading to the Hentai section.

ok here are two questions that where on my mind..

  1. Do all Japanese Highschools have a nurses office with beds and students can go in and sleep there wheneverthey want?
  2. Do the clubs really recruit new members that forcefully?

I dont know the first but for the 2nd, they do, the schools overall budget is divided amongst the clubs, the clubs with the more members gets more dope, so those clubs with no members or very little of them have to pick more up or else their budget will drop really low or they will even be disbanded

Well, you have to actually be sick to be able to sleep there, or at least tell them you're not feeling well. They're pretty lenient. You can also go there everyday and get vitamins. They give 'em for free. 😀 (well, at least in my uni^^)

They don't, really. But they do have club fairs where people can check out all the different clubs. People will always try to promote their club to you, but definitely not force you to. Japanese people aren't that agressive.

To give you some perspective of how unpopular the xbox is...
Everyone knows what a Wii and a PS3 is, even old people (mostly cause Wii and PS3 commercials are on TV all the time) . Very few people even know what the heck an Xbox is. It also receives only a very, very small shelf space in game stores.

I've seen thigh high and or knee high socks.
In fact, I own some. I wear them often.

I don't see the big surprise. You must not get out a lot.

here's a question of my own as well:

What is up with the sudden kisses on the first meetings on most shoujo mangas? Do they happen frequently? Is that, like, a fantasy of girls there in Japan? I was just curious coz if that was done to me, i'd probably so weirded out that i'd beat him to a pulp and turn him over to the police and feel violated. Lol

I got two more:

Are those gym outfits really so desired by Japanese men? Seems kinda lame to me...

Is bullying anywhere near as bad as in manga. Bullying in America seems halfhearted at its worst compared to some of the crap the kids in manga put up with.

Here's another one, do japanese people really "huggle" themselves and wiggle their butt when they see something uber kawaii or like... idk hot? Do u kno what i mean?

EDIT: Ok i'm gonna guess it probably doesn't happen but where did that whole thing come from, kinda like the nosebleed thing.

In one word: Never. Like I said before, Japanese people aren't that aggressive.

I don't know cause I didn't have gym in my university, but I can be pretty sure that it's not. C'mon, they've seen girls wear that every week since they were in first grade. I don't think it should be a big deal.

Next to pressure (from parents, friends, etc) to do well in school, the second most popular reason for suicide in Japan is school bullying. It's pretty bad among first to fourth graders. Kids bully other kids who are different. The reason why foreign students like me toured elementary schools was actually to show to kids that people who are "different" are still good people, and can still be "cool" and accepted. As people get older it becomes less and less prevalent. In high school it's almost non-existent.

In a word: No. XD Though they do say the word "kawaii" around 10 times more than a normal non-japanese person will say "cute". They just don't wiggle and stuff. I don't know where that idea came from, though. Maybe it's the fact that there are so many cute things in Japan. lol. 😀
