this is SLIGHTLY off topic but this link is amusing, more like the opposite of this thread:

http://www.jref.com/culture/misconceptions_prejudices.shtml freaky. That first two paragraphs of that link are almost precisely what Onizuka is fighting against. Now why did I think of GTO when I read that?
😐
Also, I heard Xbox 360 actually outsold the PS3 in Japan for a certain period. However since I heard it on the radio of all places, it may have been some kind of joke.

As promised, here's a few pictures I took of Akihabara during my most recent visit to Japan (around 6 months ago). Look at the hordes of geeks. XD Especially the ones around the girl in the Yuna cosplay. XD Most of the girls in cosplay are working (promoting stores, products, etc.)

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v31/shuro/Akihabara/

Maybe I should upload Harajuku next. XD

W00t! Thanks for the photos! 😀 <3

The sad thing is, I think it reminds me that I didn't take any photos of the Akihabara area, except maybe the Anime Center that they had just opened or around it. And also that I have not really labelled and organized my 1000 or so photos that total about 700 megs. 🙁 ... 😳 ... 🤣

Are those gym outfits really so desired by Japanese men? Seems kinda lame to me...

I don't know cause I didn't have gym in my university, but I can be pretty sure that it's not. C'mon, they've seen girls wear that every week since they were in first grade. I don't think it should be a big deal.

But maybe the older guys then? 😛 😳

Japanese people have to be the most perverted group of people in the world, can I get a clarification on this? It says it (indirectly) in wiki, and directly on a G4TV poll (with Germany, the US and England behind japan).

Meh, I think it's just a gross exaggeration, really. Every country has their own share of pervs. Japan's just get exposed more in the media circuit.

The frequent nosebleeds (and subsequent embarassment) of male anime characters are related to a folk-belief that sexual excitement in men leads to a change in blood-pressure, which in turn can cause a nose-bleed. There's a subsidiary belief more profuse the flow, the greater the excitement.
Thats all folks 😀 😀

Yep, that's just about 100% right. Though I'm also I'm around 104% sure that this was copy-pasted from somewhere else. 😀

Of course it was, you think I can come up with something like this, I would have written that it was a sign of their horniness, but I still found it, you gotta give me some credit

Are people actually bullied because their hair is a different color, as in not black or shades of brown?

I've seen a lot of swimsuits, and those rubber things are some of the least intriguing, too, in my opinion. Although, I'm not really too excited by swimsuits. I've probably seen too many between being on swim teams, working as a life guard, teaching swim lessons, and spending every day during the summer at the pool as a child.

Ok two more questions coming up:

 1. What is skinship really? does it exist in Japan?
 2. Do public bathouses/hot springs exist in Japan with the same image that is portrayed in anime and manga?

I can answer number one. Skinship is the combination of the words skin and kinship, and is bonding with children through a close relationship with physical contact by their family. This sort of bonding is most prevalent during the infancy and toddler stages, and typically begins to decline as the child reaches adolescence. It has nothing to do with incest or child molestation. However, sometimes the word is misused to represent that sort of relationship. I imagine in Japan it's just as common a practice as anywhere else.
