The first time I see a particular credits page, I will usually read it the whole way through, but after that I just skim it (my "skimming" is good enough that I will notice if there's a different name). This way, I have at least shown a little appreciation to the scanlators by reading their names and acknowledging their existence. 🙂 If there are translation notes or something, I will take time to make sure I read them, and if they have a really nice-looking picture, I'll give it an extra moment of my time (a reward for having good taste).
But if the credits page is especially big and flashy, or if it has an ugly/stupid picture on it, or if the t/l notes are dumb, I don't look at it at all, because then it's annoying and distracting from the manga. (It's also my way of spiting the scanlators for having bad taste.)

Yeah, sometimes that annoys me too, 'specially the if the credits page is kinda flashy--but I don't fault the group for doing it, 'cause most do a chapter at a time, so it makes sense. And it's easy to skip, so it's not a big deal.

I *always *read the credits page listing the people who worked on the project. Honestly, I really appreciate what people do to bring us scanlations.

It does annoy me when every chapter has multiple ads for the group; I hate going through them every time, even if I understand the reason for advertising; that they are looking for editors etc. Usually, I will leave them in the first chapter and delete all of the ads in subsequent chapters.

Most of the time, yes. Especially when they have comments inserted in their credits page, hehe 😛 They're oftentimes funny.

I do 🙂 Especially the Raw Provider and Translator, especially when groups share staff members, it was always fun to see who worked for which group 😉

Inside Scanlation - TYPE-MOON

Yep, I love seeing who translated what, especially when it changes from chapter to chapter. I guess it's just because it makes me feel like I'm giving the person acknowledgment even if they don't know I'm doing it. I even do it for officially translated manga.

Sorry, but I don't pay attention to credits beyond noticing what group is responsible for the scanlation. I respect the right of groups and individuals who do scanlation projects to include a credits page, but I don't find the credits overly useful since people so often use inconsistent aliases. It makes it hard to appreciate an individual editor/translator/scanner's work.

I used to never take a look at them, but now I make it a point to read them all and carefully. It's the very least I can do for those people who worked on the chapter, and even those who made the credits page.

My simple answer is "nope!" But it depends o.o Barely...

If you have like 5 pages added to the front of all your releases (inserts), you might as well say good-bye already because you're annoying! I will avoid you just because of that, oh yeah.

If I like the way a manga was typesetted and handed out, I'll definitely look. I love when I come across a good typesetter and I'll even follow their work.

Groups that try to spice it up and add humor to their releases are awesome. T/N and E/N are all too rare and you've already got me if they're witty.

That's all it depends on. If your releases don't impress me, make me laugh or help me improve on my own scanlating (which yes, I'm in) then the credits are only there for reference. Credits are also pointless because staff are so easily replaced, it's not like you could memorize or care about all the names.

Try to give yourself a strong alias when busying yourself with scanlating, make a name for yourself and don't do a crap job. Someone will notice you 😃

i occasionally look at it. but i dont need to read the same credits over and over.

I read them the first time, but not when I see the same pages at the start of each chapter. I think that the credits are mainly useful when I'm reading a manga on an online viewing site, which does not clearly give credit to the scanlators. If I'm downloading, I already know what scanlator I downloaded from, so the credits are redundant.

I always do. Some of the text in the credits are actually quite funny. Especially with the A-team's credits. The person who writes the text reminds me of this celebrity called Karl Pilkington from an Idiot Abroad so obnoxious! Funny but obnoxious! 🤣

I second that, most of the credits I read are great. While being funny they remind you that there are ppl behind the scenes willing to do the work it takes to post each new chapter. 😀
