I thought about songs such ad When The Levee Breaks, or Riders on the Storm.. but then I realised that if i could pick the ones, that really mean something to me, i would pick something from the time of WWII and Warsaw Uprising.
Warszawo ma the song is from early 40's, the audio is modern, recorded probably in the 90's/00's. The song describes what happened to the Jewish people (and then Polish) in Warsaw (my hometown). The video footage is what Warsaw looked like after the Uprising, when all inhabitants either died or were send somewhere else.

Nancy Sinatra
how could I forget about her.
The way she dances in "These boots are made for walkin' " is stunning. She does almost nothing, but in a way it's unbelievable (the girls in the back are just creepy). Not to mention how she sings.
Yaay.
Already mentioned but:
"Jimi Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower."
Even Bob Dylan complimented Hendrix for his cover on that song.
Anyways, lots of mention on Nancy Sinatra. I'll include:
"Nancy Sinatra - You Only Live Twice"
"The Eagles - Hotel California"

haha when you all were posting songs from the 80s...and they are "oldies" haha...gee thanks 😛 I was born in 1981.
I'm eclectic in my music...so classical music is a sure thing for me...but songs that have lyrics that I can understand (some classical is sung in operas...can't understand them, but it's beautiful!)
Patsy Cline's Crazy-1961 (I grew up listening to all kinds of music so I have to put country on the list haha)
Gene Kelly singing and dancing-I'm Singing in the Rain-1952 (I love musicals lol)
and of course hymns...too many of those to list. They go back some of them to the 1800s. 🙂 or even later than that!
