Either such thread doesn't exist or it hides very well.

I know. It depends on a genre. And yes, you should choose one option in spite of a genre.

I chose oneshot. I like short juicy stories.
I am really afraid of epic stories. When I wanted to get to know I"s I just took first chapters, then some from the middle and the end 😀 . And sometimes authors go crazy when they don't know what else to put in there. A miserable sight. But if it's Homunculus, I'd like to read tons of it.

Oh, there was some site poll about manga length, I believe.

I don't care for the lenght as long as it keeps being interesting and doesn't turn into a complete nonsense 🤣 .

i like mangas that range from 5-7 volumes, its the right length, and i can buy them easily. i also like one shots :]
sometime i read mangas that exceed over 15 volumes if i find them interesting.like skip beat! for example.

I like one-shots. 3-5 volume series are okay as well. Nothing too long.

The length which is right for the story.

I don't like it when one stretches out too long because the mangaka won't put an end to it, or is condensed and rushed for whatever reason.
If it goes at a comfortable pace, I don't mind how long or short it is.

20 volumes might be a little too much or
not enough. If it's filled with battles and war,
it shouldn't last too long. Gets tedious.
Around 30 volumes would be nice though.

Well it depends some one shots makes you want more and some long running series 10+ just make you want to see it end but it depends like naruto/bleach i know some people are annoyed with them but what the hell it gives me something to read. basically anything that can keep me interested just as long as it doesn't drag on.

fuu~ neither too long nor too short, for me. some oneshots and humonguous giants are only so tolerable. of course, there are exceptions, when the series or story is really good, but usually, i'm all for the typical 10-20 or so volumes. maybe a little more or less, depending on the series or if necessary.

yeah. i totally agree with what the person above me said about bleach.

... my thoughts exactly.

it's alright for a long series, and it gives one something to read. but sometimes.... you just wanna give up when it gets too long. or how some oneshots are tooo short, and you end up thinking "that's IT?!! whaaa-?"

if it's long and great, i'd prefer that over something thats short and great, but at the same time, i rarely come across such mangas

If it's an action manga with an intresting plot, I would like it to last more than 20 volumes...otherwise 5/6 volumes are enough.

Anywhere between 10 to 20 Volumes...
Any more of it seems to be stretching it unnecessarily.

Hence, I don't usually like the big big ones...

My preferable manga length is 2 or 10 volumes especially for seinen/shoujo series.

I'll probably be discourage reading more than 20 volumes (i.e The Ravages of Time). There are few exceptions though like 20th Century Boys and Vagabond).
