About 5 volumes would be fine for me. Although with certain genres I prefer either more or one-shots.

It depends on the series' story quality.
If it gets boring, I'll stop reading it.
If its getting exciting like Gintama and BLEACH, I'll continue.
I would say 10 to 20 volumes is enough for me.
20+ volumes is too much.

Hey, I like 'em long. But if I'm not thinking that I want more when it does end, then it obviously dragged out too long.

it really depends on the manga. but i prefer at least a few volumes, 5 or more if possible. i tend to avoid oneshots because they're just so short, i'll either feel like there wasn't enough space to tell a decent story, or that i want to read more, but probably never will...
manga that are really long, like hana yori dango, i started to get bored of. but considering there wasn't much going on there... i really don't mind though. if a manga has a lot of arcs, i can carry on reading for however long, as long as the story keeps going somewhere and reaching new territory.
short manga always leave me wanting more. so i think i'll always prefer longer manga. but it's disconcerting to think of how many years i might have to follow a manga until it's finished (i can't really imagine being such a die-hard manga fan all my life)... but still. long series = more satisfying imo.

I prefer long mangas.. Like Angel Densetsu or S.A.
I guess for me is around 20 would be nice.. Especially if the story is good, longer the better..
Longest one I've read is Hajime no Ippo I guess cause it is one of the longest manga around.

I'd say i dont care about the length as long as it doesnt fall into the infinite plot less loop of bleach and hunter x hunter 😀
ed... look how hajime no ippo still kicks butt 😛 and is over 80 vols long
Infinite. I hate when a great series has the worst ending ever.

Strongly depends on the story...
Some manga just can't pull it off and get boring during the first volume, or several after.
Some are nice, but enough is enough and about 5 volumes would be ok.
Sometimes I'd like the fun to last longer, and 10 is great.
Other are so pleasent to read that I just want more of them.
Like YKK and Nodame Cantabile.
I guess mainly slice of life types.
But oneshots are good too.
One volumes are sometimes perfect...
So I have no idea how to answer the poll... 🤢
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.

If I enjoy it enough, then I'd want it to continue for a while, regardless of how long it gets. The only exception for that though is romance manga. I personally think they should be 10-15 volumes or less, because the plot always drags out after that and makes the quality of the story go down.

Just because someone's head was chopped off doesn't mean they're dead. That's just silly.
I prefer 10-25 volumes if it's a good story like shin angyo onshi. If it's more than that (like 300+ chapters), I will avoid it like the plague.

I really like long series. You get more familiar with the characters and start having more thoughts about the plot and whatnot.
Of course there are series that over do it....like, in my opinion, Hajime no Ippo. That could have ended at 30 volumes or sooner but it is still ongoing at 87 volumes. I stopped reading it after a while, because it just seemed like the same thing was happening again and again. Slam Dunk on the other hand ended too abruptly. Inoue Takehiko said he might work on a Slam Dunk 2, so let's keep our fingers crossed, shall we? 😃

Totally agree. 😃
