This would be hard to decide since we don't really have any way to rate their intellects (as most have some bullcrap magical intuition, rather than logic). I usually hate the way genius characters are portrayed in manga because it is soo ridiculous.

L probably takes the cake though as it was entirely with his gut instinct that he was onto Light. Sure there were tons of speech bubbles of him trying to explain his "logic" but there were just soo many variables with the Death Note that it was just bull the way he guessed everything.

Same thing with Lelouch. Every single time he "outsmarted" his enemies, he had set everything prior and just basically hoped it would go his way. Geniuses in manga are not really all THAT smart, they only have this inane ability to guess what is likely to happen. In reality it is not so simple to predetermine a person's actions and actually get it right.

Anyway my bet is on L, as he isn't really a genius but can most certainly read minds as well as make statistically impossible guesses.

id go with shikamaru, he's not only mildly intelligent but also had to think on the fly most of the time, as not to be killed by bad ninjas and such.

also because I've got a thing against death note, ishida isn't that smart even in bleach, conan is a different type of intelligence, and don't know the rest.

Out of these choices, I think Shikamaru would win. My real choice however is Ed from Cowboy Bebop... she played for over a week straight, and, though she lost, the guy to whom she lost is dead...
