Do You Get Depressed After Finishing A Manga?

When a manga ends, I do feel sad, and kinda empty too. The reasons for that differ; I feel sad 'cuz I loved the characters, and won't get to see them again; the ending's sad; the story which I liked ended, now I won't be able to read it more; the story leaves some topics unexplained; and most importantly - the manga ended! Now what do I read! 😕 🤢
Though I feel happy too when a manga has a happy ending 😀
There are times when you will miss what you never had. I wonder how you will find what you so desperately need.

I get very depressed and my mind go blank for a couple of days. And, the problem is, that where is no real difference between good and bad(for any reason) ending.
If ending was good i fell very sad coz I'll never see my favorite characters again, even if story end well. The only exception was Ai yori Aoshi, but this manga story's fully complete, just nothing to add.
If ending's bad the reason is obvious. And the worst thing is rushed ending. It's better to freeze manga than to make it stupid. And about real "bad"(everyone dies etc.) ending, i develop some kind of six sense 🤣 and just ignore\drop it pretty fast.
And i have a cowardly way to avoid depression. A just don't read finale chapters at all(like in School Rumble) or when i see the finale is near, i stop reading manga for some time and read it later with much less emotions.
But some bastard manage to take me by surprise.
I read horrible last chapter of XXXHlic without knowing it's last chapter! Curse you Clamp! I'll never ever get near any of you works again!

Yes I do! Especially if it's one of my favourites. It's really nice to know that there's people out there who are like me! That's why I have a tendency to avoid completed scanlated series haha.
When I finish manga, I get this really empty feeling inside. This void...I dunno how you could explain it but hopefully you get me. And I feel really sad and depressed and this generally goes away after a day or so. It's so depressing seeing the last of my favourite characters and the much loved plot. Sometimes, if it's really bad, I'd reread the series in one sitting to feel better. And that's rare because I can never reread the same series twice. But if I know the series has a sequel then I wouldn't feel depressed if the series finished because there's more to look forward to! But the feeling is lessened if the ending rounds off the series well. As in meaning, no loose end has not been tied up neatly. Then I would feel satisfied.

That happened to me almost all the time... Especially if it's something that's been running for a long time (like Slam Dunk). I get that sense of emptiness like there's nothing else to look forward to. That's why I get depressed. Well, that's also usually when I start hunting for doujinshis and fanarts.
I know I'm gonna cry when Hajime no Ippo or One Piece reaches their final volume 🙁 (
I get that feeling with games too, that's why I have a pile of save games with just the final boss fight left 😛
Glad to know I'm not the only one 😀

I think I get depressed when finishing a manga only if the ending is bad.
It's like, oh , you should have placed more effort in that to make it amazing!
No, not depressed. More like bittersweet.

You are like the dense main character in a shoujo manga.

I used to. Not depressed per say but more like sad. For a day maybe lol.
But not anymore. I am not feeling shit anymore. On contrary I feel relieved when I finish something so I can move on to the next thing.

I used to get depressed, but only occasionally now. Only time I get depressed is when I find the ending is not what I wanted, but hey, that's life for you.
Other than what I stated above, I don't get depressed anymore, it's more of an "I wished this had happened instead of that" kind of thinking for a few hours... or a day or two.

If I really enjoyed it, then kinda, yeah. I get the same way when I finish a good book. I feel like I was invited into this amazing world only to get rudely booted out of it. I always feel like I'm missing somthing in my life and if I really enjoyed it, it can take me a while to summon the will to find a replacement
The pen is mightier than the sword...and considerably easier to write with.
i wish i could reset my brain so i could read it again and be surprised again. enough saidxD 🤣

Pikapu said it best, for me at least. The feeling is very bittersweet, kinda like instant nostalgia as you follow the steps of storyline once more to make that ending feel just right. I miss it, but I'm glad to have finished the story. That is of course if it was a good manga.
But does anyone else do that? After having finished the last chapter you start from the beginning and pick out a few chapters to jog your memory on how the entire thing enveloped.
I really do enjoy finishing an awesome manga.
On a side note it would be great to get a list of manga that hits you right in the spot for this kind of thing. I suppose one of my greatest was Genshiken and Eureka Seven.

Sometimes, if I really loved it and I know there isn't anything similar out there.
