I get tired of all these unrealisticly beautiful people in manga. Other people need love too. I'm looking for a romance series where the main character is overweight/ugly or used to be. Or one where the main character loves an overweight or ugly person. It can be an opposite sex couple, yaoi, or yuri pairing.
I've already read Miunohri to Swan, Cousin, Hada no Ue no Renai Jijou, Sweet Bitter Candy, and a few others.
Any ideas would be very helpful. (:

it fits your criteria perfectly. although, it is a bit unrealistic. it's basically about this girl who used to be cute as a child but now is fat and overweight and she has all these hot guys around here that talk to her and are trying to make her beautiful again. it's not fully scanalated but it has been licensed, so if you enjoy the first chapters that are scalanlated then you can always just go and buy the books 😀

My favourite of this theme would have to be Aitsu no Daihonmei. It is shounen ai, so far nothing more visible than a kiss, though they insinuate the more happens I believe. It is also not fully scanlated and the updates are kinda slow. The plot gets a little crazy in places, like random chapters which make you go 'wtf?' but it goes back to normal afterwards.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Ressentiment. The main protagonist is an overweight middle aged man who's life is plain pitiful. Then again, it's not that great a manga. Nothing I would personally recommend, but since you're looking for ugly/overweight characters....
