Hello!
I've been reading manga for a while now (about a year) but I'm new to MU so thought I'd say Hi 😀
I've never been good with introductions so here goes nothing...

My username's nunya_bishieness (hope it's not too pretentious 😕 )
I don't think I would be exaggerating if I were to say I'm a manga junkie 😛 (the one time i tried quitting I experienced withdrawal symptoms lol)
In my opinion, manga like chocolate is best enjoyed dark but that doesn't mean that I won't wolf down anything else on my plate
I'm currently loving Liar Game and Uzumaki
I'm presently going through a Psychological/Horror phase and I'm open to suggestions 😀

Well that's about it
Guess you'll see me haunting the forums from now on 😉

Welcome to MU 😀

If you go to the bottom of the I'm Looking For... section of the forums, and search psychological horror there's a few threads you can sift through for something good to read.

Welome again, and if you need any help with anything free feel to PM me. 😁

Nice to you nunya_bishieness (any name's fine as long as you like it). You can browse the forums for psychological/ horror stories or make use of the Advanced Search by Genre, really useful because you can include and exclude (un)wanted tags. If you want to exclude one, just add a minus (-tag name).

I don't read much horror, I prefer psychological and mystery stories, but if you're fine with that, I can suggest a few:

ASANO Inio's Nijigahara Holograph
Sometimes classified as horror, sometimes not but worth reading nontheless. A truly dark and complex work about several elementary school students whose lives intertwine irrevocably. Brilliantly told but impossible to explain, so everyone has to find their own interpretation.

Boogiepop wa Warawanai by KADONO Kouhei/ OGATA Kouji
Mystery horror which flows nicely. Female high-school students keep disppearing, his girlfriend starts to shift personalities and a rumour about different strange entities goes around - how's one supposed to remain idle? So the protagonist embarks on a journey to uncover the truth behind these happenings. Little does he know that he's not the only one investigating.

UEDA Shinsyu's Dawn - Tsumetai Te
An unknown infection starts to spread in a certain city driving people into madness. The male lead is one of the infected but he hasn't lost his reason - yet. When he's asked to kill other infected, he's starting to doubt the righteousness of his actions and the degree of his own humanity. An action-horror series with psychological elements. Dark and uncommon for a Shoujo.

Conductor by KAMINAGA Manabu/ Nokiya
Another one on the mystery side. A female flutist has recurring nightmares about a skull. An ambitious conductor returns to his old university. A couple in the orchestra is plagued by secrets of the past. An aging inspector investigates the origin of an headless mummy. And all of them are somehow related to a certain conservatory... Nothing extraordinary but still enjoyably suspenseful.

Wind Grass Child from OKAZAKI Mari's Yawarakai Kara
Skillfully narrated short story (+ introductory poem) about the horrors of the human heart. Eerie.

Thanks for all the welcomes! Didn't expect so many! 😀

@Kitty18dnsz: thanks i'll do that! 🙂

@Tripitaka: Thanks a lot for the reccomendations! Dawn - Tsumetai Te has been on my radar for a while now, I'll probably get around to reading it sometime soon!
Nijigahara Holograph sounds great. Those are all going on my wish list! (which has already gotten a lot longer since I joined MU)
I don't really read much horror either, just trying it out since I was bored of mainstream Shonen/Shoujo and, well maybe because I've had a pretty ... sheltered childhood (read: never watched a horror movie unless you count paranormal activity)

Thanks a lot everyone! You'll be seeing me around 😀
