Although I do agree, I decided for the sake of this conversation, or argument, whichever everyone else is viewing it as, to focus on Japan alone, as it is the nation where manga and anime originate from, this I believe it is the most important judge of what is popular and what isn't.

I welcome anyone else here to also do research on any claim made here. I've done research, and I believe at least 90% of what I say to be true. I leave a 10% window for errors, because not all information you find on the internet will be accurate. Thus, you could cite a reference you believe to be accurate, when it is not.

Off-topic: HAHAHA. You people(Kaioh, Daedalus) are funny... to be making such an inane argument about which series is #1 is quite laughable. I only say it's laughable because you are arguing about what is #1 right now. When you know that as soon as both Naruto and One Piece have ended... they will both fade into obscurity just as DB/Z has.

Though I will say that Kaioh's reference to DB/Z has only been in how legendary it is in the fact that it's fanbase is still massive 12 years after the manga finished and thus deserves it's due credit for being the starting point of manga/anime in America.

This one goes out to Daedalus. You asked for anybody to point out a character that has died in the One Piece series. Yet, if you truly followed the series at all. Knew the characters at all. Then you would know that death is a part of almost all of the characters histories. Zoro and the girl from his childhood(Who's name escapes me at the moment). Sanji and his shipmates from when he was a child... to his mentor having eaten his own leg to survive. Chopper and Dr. Hiluluk. Robin and her homeland. Nami and her "Mother." Even Usopp has death in his history... his mom died... though we never actually see her. Though I suppose it is true I can't name any character's who have been introduced and died outside of a characters history. But, that could be slated to the fact they were minor characters.

I won't argue which series is more popular or say that either one is my favorite, because I am listless in my favorites... I could love it today and hate it tomorrow. That is also how the world is and always has been. So if you both continue to argue the point of which is better. You will both be idiots(I decided to save 'unintelligable' for your use only.) in my book.

On-topic: I really liked the chapter. xD I found it very enticing how Itachi smiled when Naruto claimed to be a better brother then he ever was. It left me with chills to know that he was somehow proud of Naruto and Sasuke's bond. And that Sasuke has yet to kill Naruto and travel the road Itachi had laid out for him. All in all I think the series is going swimmingly. xD The story-telling is still well above par for me. So, it is always hard waiting for the next chapter. xD

anyhow, with regard to the original topic: chapter was on par with Naruto's usual, nothing more, nothing less. Don't get me wrong though, the standard of quality for each Naruto chapter is fairly high. Interesting dialog with Godaime and Jiraiya this one though. good stuff 😀

Not to mention, Reikoku, that Gold Roger's death is what set almost all the events of the entire series in motion. The death of the Pirate King set in motion the great age of piracy, according to the plot.

Alot of deaths in that series do happen in character's back story's. Such as Bellemerre, who was the surrogate mother for both Nami and her Sister. In fact, all the main characters of One Piece have lost someone important to them, its what builds their character.

I hope this hasn't gotten too far out of hand, as it IS completely going off-topic.

The point of my original post was to chastise Daedalus, for in no short words, stating that people are unintelligable or haters of Naruto for not having the same belief that it is the greatest shounen manga. While I do believe in freedom of speech, openly insulting a group of people (Even though they may not know, as alot of people who do not enjoy Naruto tend to avoid this area of the forum, anyways) is something I consider to be rude and unfair. Especially because they themselves are not hear to defend themselves. As I am one of the people who disagree, I spoke up about it. His original post breaks some rules (More to the insulting people and flaming of a group of people, but also some offensive content (in that he has openly insulted others, including myself), but I have done nothing about it, because I want him to speak his mind.

What I got where accusations, insinuations, insults, and declarations. I still feel that none of it has added up to anything more than both of us going off-topic, and ruining the thread.

Although, I did get a good laugh out of the "calling us Narutards" and "That's not logical it's just unintelligible mess". Portmanteau's are completely logical. 😀

Yeah, both of their mothers are deceased in the story. Also, they both have different situations with thier home lands, however, only Robin's home land was actually destroyed.

Omg, I just hope it's not going to end all emo-like with Itachi suddenly realizing the worth of friendship or such crap. Like "Oh Sasuke my beloved little brother - you know the reason I killed the whole clan (including our parents where I even showed you the images of their murder with my mangekyou sharingan) was all to your best because I wanted you to surpass me in strength" ....

And Sasuke can't win if they fight now. Even though he heals fast he's still injured. Kishis way of getting out of the battle (if there's going to be one, but I can't imagine Sasuke listening to anything Itachi says so I guess there will be at least one attack) without concluding who's stronger - simply by saying Sasuke was injured at that time.

Anyway I'm looking forward to the next chapter - c'mon Sasuke I believe in you xD prove that my logic is wrong <_<

Oh and I forgot - Sasuke's team ist missing as well. What's he doing in there alone anyway? And we can't even be sure that it's the real Itachi and not just another clone or something.

Oh boy, the arguments between Kaioh and Daedalus were really entertaining from an outside point-of-view. I almost forgot that this topic was supposed to be the discussion of chapter 366 and not a debate.

That set aside, uh...it's not likely that both Itachi and Sasuke will be at each other's throats so recklessly-- aren't there two platoons trailing Sasuke, as well as Naruto's myriad of kage bunshins scouting the whole forest at the time of the two brothers' encounter? They won't be able to get in more than a few moments of speech, unless they decide to teleport elsewhere... However, I'm wondering if either Tobi and Kakashi will show up to interfere or say a few words of wisdom. Frankly, I'm looking forward to a (bitter) congregation of the four Sharingan users-- I want to see how things would turn out.

Ya know, I'm actually hoping this is the fated showdown between Sasuke and Itachi.

I mean, almost the entire manga has had Sasuke hating his brother. Although it wasn't a really well known fact in the very beginning.

I'd personally just like to see it over and done with.

It'll probably be something like..... Sasuke vs. Itachi. Itachi wins, Sasuke realizes he needs the support of his friends, apologizes to Sakura and Naruto, trains with his friends, somehow surpases Itachi, then wins the rematch. However, he then chooses not to kill him, as its revealed that Itachi wasn't really behind the Uchiha massacre, and that he was framed, and this entire time the real Itachi has been under a Genjutsu by the true killer, Tobi!

.....or not.

Just, I hope that story comes to an end, soon.

My guess is that Itachi will blow up Naruto first (not literally), and right before Naruto dies, Sasuke jumps in and fights Itachi to protect Naruto, his "real brother". There has to be a reason for the huge difference in strength growth between Sasuke and Naruto. It fits in with the rest of the story.
