i guess that's a reason good as any...me, i'd feel more comfortable if they spoke my language rather then the way they look O_O

The language thing is normal though, like common sense. Unless you truly love the person, you wouldn't want to not be able to communicate with them...

This might be a seterotype thinking, but I think that a kind interacts with their own kind (note, i'm trying not to mention the word race here) is waaayyy better than interacting with other kind. For example, choosing a different person than your own culture kind of person for friends... Most would choose their own culture kind, but some would choose the other one just to see what it's like to be different.. [trying to rescue this thread]

eh of course i meant you must be able to communicate...it's just that i don't wanna speak english to my woman...

choosing someone because he's of your kind and choosing someone because he's different and interesting is pretty much same in my book...though that interesting part can stop being interesting in some time...and there's where customs and habits show up...

anyways everyone has their preference...but choosing or ignoring someone just because he/she is different or not is kinda narrow-minded, you could be missing on things...

You totally took this thread the wrong way. Each race has the points where they excel, physically. This is a one hundred percent superficial conversation. This doesn't mean people are discriminating. Even the person you quoted didn't take what he said seriously.

You are wrong when you say that the only major difference in appearance between a white and a black person is the hair and skin color. If one is around people of both races long enough they can clearly discern that there are many physical traits common to one group and not the other.

Even if it was just skin color, I personally don't see a problem with being attracted one way or the other. It's human nature to form preferences, to find one ting more appealing or beautiful than another based on how it looks.

This thread is about simple attraction, not deep connections. Of course, it's obvious, in the long run, that any person of any one race could potentially find themselves deeply attracted to a person of any other race based on personality and other things that matter more than the physical stuff.

That's not the point though. The point is that people do make judgements based on the way others look, and one those judgments is judging them to be physically attractive or not based on physical traits. As a number of physical traits are tied to race I think it's a reasonably fair way to categorize people (though there are easily better ways to do so).

Granted, the poll could have used more options. "Asian" in particular should have split into more sub-categories.

I would phrase it like: I feel comfortable with my own culture because it's easy to communicate with people from the same culture, though it's not always the case. Even people from the same race (e.g. assuming they are all Asian) can find it hard to communicate with each other due to different cultures and backgrounds.

It's not really that important in this case, but just so you know, Scandinavia is a peninsula in northern Europe and has nothing to do with Asia.

I understand the idea of wanting to keep it simple, but in my view there is a clear difference in the appearance of East Asians and Indian and Arabic people though. Asian as itself is a little too broad. Just because they're from the same continent doesn't mean they all fall under the same race. I mean, Mexico and the Canada are part of the same continent and you likely don't consider their general populations to be of the same race.
