I figured it was only polite to introduce myself first, before I start badgering people with all the questions I have--which I'll shortly be doing elsewhere in the forums.

Lowdown of My Essential Properties, And Some Accidental Attributes:

I'm female.

I'm a devout Hindu, but I appreciate, respect and often even observe the festivals of other religions. Hey, any excuse for a festival, right? And FOOD. Let's not forget the food. "'Scuse me, I love your God, I love our God--oh, are those the sweets? GIMMEH." Actual quote, trufax.

I'm mainly a shoujo reader, which is a bit embarrassing to admit, since I'm in my late twenties and I should have outgrown that by now. Yeah, I know I should have, but... But...! BUT THE HEARTS. AND THE GLITTER. AND THE EYELASHES LONG ENOUGH TO FUNCTION AS INDUSTRIAL CRANES. <3

Don't ask me how late in my "late twenties" I am. First of all: You never ask a woman her age. Second of all: You just... don't. Augh, I'm getting old. This is so pathetic. ;_;

I do read josei, too, but I hardly ever read any shounen or seinen. That said, I have been known to occasionally pick up landmark seinen manga. By "landmark," I mean seinen by godlike mangakas such as Osamu Tezuka and Naoki Urasawa. Basically, only geniuses can convince me to read outside of my demographic. This is also pathetic.

But! The one bright, totally non-pathetic spot in my life is my honey-boo, whom I will be engaged to in June, and will be married to by next year, gods willing. We're both Indian, so it'll be a full-on Monsoon Wedding. Yes, our horoscopes have been matched and everything. I think it's awesome how modern technology and ancient customs can coexist...

What else? I love Baka-Updates. 😎 Not just sucking up here, I really mean it. This place is just so useful for an otaku like me. Makes me want to go for a swim in it. Mmm, swimming.

By the way, that's my other hobby. Swimming! I even used to compete and win prizes and stuff. Ten years ago. When I was a teenager.

Are there any other adults or full-time working/parenting people on here? Or anyone from India? Or anyone with anything in common with me at all? Please speak up!

Tips on how to use the site:

-Use the "Search Forums" button you see above to find any topics you might wanna talk about so as to avoid making repeat threads

-The List function is very useful in keeping track of manga you're reading, you wanna read or finished reading. You can see other people's lists as well in their profile if they made them public.

-On the User CP you can block out certain genres from the releases page if you don't wanna see stuff such as hentai, yaoi, yuri, etc.

-In addition to blocking out certain genres you can also search for manga with certain genres you want using the Genre Search function.

Cool... it's amazing how many people LOVE manga. Ehhh I'm probably also an otaku. 😛 Oh and I don't read only yaoi(as my data seems to suggest) but about almost everything: shoujo, josei, yuri(all types), BL, etc., etc. I just don't like a lot of modern mainstream stuff though because it's just boring.
