I'm sure they also have some sort of hobby. Just compare it to that. It's like reading a book or watching a movie, or even comics or cartoons. Even sports. Some people like it, some people don't. It's a matter of opinion. It's not like you reading manga is going to destroy the world or unleash a terrible plague upon the earth. You aren't hurting anyone. You're just relaxing and having a good time. What's wrong with that? And if that fails, well, if your friends can't accept you liking manga, are they really your friends?

All my friends hated manga for a good five years. This year though, i've converted two of them! It's slowly spreading. Whahahaha. 😛

Just tell them that everyone has their own opinions and shouldn't judge other people's. What your friend likes you may not like and evidently your friend doesn't like manga, which you like. There's really no such thing as stupid; just what one personally thinks is stupid XD

Yup, it happens to me a lot. I will be staring or daydreaming about my manga when she says 'manga sucks' or something like that.

Well what i always do is say that the singer/actor that she likes SUCKS too. And sometimes call her a duck. Lol it usually just pisses her off. (anyone know Yan Ya Lun/ Aaron Yan?)

Personally i don't care of what people say~ (especially her since i know she says it out of spite) I like it and that's that. 🙂 To hell with those who hate manga. Jkjk 🙂

I'd have to agree for the most part. It's just basically the same five plots recycled 🤣 80% is about school life or a minor, some tsundere childhood friend, and a clueless, yet unreasonably kind, guy. Also, everyone has a crush on their sibling and every delinquent has scars and a pompadour. It's just so unrealistic. Let's not forget the magical girl manga, which could be a genre on it's own, that has prepubescent, scantily clad girls fighting monsters that's labeled as a seinen or shounen. I personally don't read those, but if I did and showed a friend, I'd be labeled as a pedophile. Coincidentally, I do consider those people who read that crap a pedo. Cute? Gimme a break, chimo 😔
I wouldn't care if my friends told me they thought it was stupid. It kind of is, but I like it regardless.
