Kinda weird subject, but interesting enough 🤣

I think they deserve some respect too, uneccesary violence towards them can speak negatively about the person in question. It varies according the level of stress too, and the object's common use (no need to go easy on a punching bag 🤣 ).

As for ones I treat specially, probably my computer and gifts I received from close people.

I agree with Tsu. A few objects are favored over others, but all things are treated with a certain amount of respect. Granted, I haven't named anything since I was a child, but I still take care of my things.

I usually punch my wardrobe or something if I'm angry or frustrated.

I treat gifts better. Wouldn't want to make the giver feel bad because I broke it.

depends on what it is, my car has earned my respect by continuously performing well, while i often contemplate taking a hammer to my computer

hahahaa- some of the responses are really interesting. For me, objects are inanimate and stay that way- not alive. So I don't treat them as anything but belongings, really. Otherwise, it'd be like catering to dirt. Very counter-intuitive.

EDIT: Okay. So I don't go breaking things, either. I just meant that I don't give an overly excessive amount of care to my stuff.

This is tough for me. I think they deserve respect/care. Especially the things you care about. On the other hand I don't think you should worship them. One of my room mates and best friend has just recently put material objects above even his own friends. There needs to be balance in my opinion.

On a side note, I do tend to talk to inanimate objects as if they were alive or yell at them if I'm upset. I know I may sound crazy, probably am it's just how I am though 🤣

Well, it depends on the object.

Take my computer for instance; it has a nickname (Compy), and when Its going slow, I tell it to hurry up. I've found for some reason this generally makes the computer last longer, so I do it. XD

I also have a stuffed animal that I used to sleep with when I was little, and she gets lots of respect. She never gets thrown around or anything.

Other then that, intimate objects are just that, inanimate.

i verbally abuse any electronics. I call my computer stupid a little too often.
anything else gets a little more respect.

I name them. I talk to them. I'm polite to some, rude to others; ie. the computer when it lags, the furniture I stub my toe upon. : (

I depends on what it is and what it does for me. I loved my last car, even though it was a headache. My current car doesn't get the same consideration, when it won't start or has a problem I curse at it.

They deserve some respect

there r objects i cant simply let go..
maybe it was a present (mostly is bcz of this reason)
i remember i named a ceramic doll Lauris, it was precious to me (the name of a sis that died long time ago)
but the poor doll was.. broken..

is not like i treat them as if they were alive... but some of my stuff are important... and im very delicate when it comes to them, and i dont even let ppl get into my room for that reason.. of course not always ppl listen to me 🤢 🤣

Depends what kind of object. Objects that hold a special meaning to me and have survived years of my treatment get all my respect. ^^

-Just yesterday I slammed my keyboard. O_O
-I treat my phone as a child: he dies when he's hungry (needs charging), never works with bad weather (bad service), and cries tears of joy when he's happy (my phone rings a lot...chatting >>).
-And I treat my baby grand piano as a god. +
