I read spoilers, sometimes accidentally but most of all because I really like those manga.
Spoilers help me a lot..

Depends on what spoilers we are talking about

I go looking for some spoilers, when I have access to the raws and I realy like the story.
On forums I read almost all spoilers

Just like how you read this spoiler now

And I read spoilers when I have serious doubts about the direction a manga is taking. Possibly making sure that I won't waste my time.

I never read spoilers. I really, really can't stand them. I don't want to find out anything ahead of time, because it ruins the experience for me. (This goes not only for manga, but also for tv shows, games, movies, etc.) It wouldn't be a big deal if I couldn't remember them, but I found out a long time ago that I'm not able to forget them--actually, I remember them in explicit detail, which stinks.
So I make sure I steer clear of them--actually, it's almost turned into paranoia. For example, I almost never look at comments for a series because there might be spoilers there, and if someone nearby starts talking about the plot of a manga/game/movie/book that I haven't finished, I have to leave because they might spoil it for me.

Ah, yeah, bad habit. Sometimes it's good... I've dropped a series or two that I otherwise would have wasted time on because of spoiler tags. But more often than not it kind of ruins it for me.

Sometimes, though, spoilers are impossible to avoid. Like, "Oh yeah! In Fruits Basket, Tohru ends up with-!" or "I was really mad in Death Note when-!" If you guys have ever not been spoiled by some of the popular series, like not even by accident, my kudos to you. 😃

But what's even worse is that for books in general, I always read the last chapter first to determine whether or not the ending is good enough to read the whole thing for. Sad...

Heh heh. I'm pretty terrible about spoilers. I'm the type to read the last page of a chapter first so given half a chance I'd read a spoiler before reading a chapter. That said, I'm much worse when it comes to American comics, Movies and Anime. Sometimes I'd just look for a detailed spoiler because I don't feel like taking the time to read/watch an issue, video or series. 🤣

hell no.
surprise element is very important to me
if i already know whats going to happen i cant enjoy it
i would never read spoilers...and if it happens by mistake,i wont read the manga(except if i forgot the spoiler)
this also applies to books, movies,tv shows etc.

I'm the exact same way. I never read them on purpose and if I accidentally read them I put off reading the manga. Also, I will sometimes stop reading the description of a manga in the middle of it once I decide that I'm going to read it. I like knowing as little as possible and having everything be a surprise

exactly 😀 i turn a blind eye to reviews, summaries, description and start reading the manga/book/whatever with a blank mind
the only thing i look at is the main genre tags
i used to be interested in ratings but not anymore since i've been disappointed time and time again with mangas that are highly rated(especially shoujos and shounens)

edit : i forgot to add...i never read/watch the same thing twice(except for movies or oneshots) because once i know the contents of the manga it loses its charm

The less you know about it ahead of time, the better--well, except you have to know something to decide whether you want to read it, so you have to compromise a little. Sometimes the description is vague enough that it's okay, but other times the description gives away too much information, so I have to be careful! Whenever possible, I decide what to read just based on the cover picture, avoiding the description altogether.

I read them when I come across them but I rarely believe them. Never know who's trolling on telling the truth anymore.

Even so, I don't get upset by spoilers unless I'm *really * into the series. There are also times when I actually look up spoilers because I can't take the antici......... pation.

🤣

EDIT: Sorry for bumping an old poll discussion! Feel free to delete my post if necessary.

That was SO interesting, the article about how spoilers actually improve one's enjoyment of something! I knew it! That's why I love to re-read good manga, because, now I understand the author's mental concept, I can get so many more subtlties during the course of the plot that way! Spoilers are my life! I ALWAYS read the last chapter first, manga or book, so I am a happier human being in the long run. (Even anime, you should probably watch the last bit first so that you know SPOILER Samurai X dies, or whatever. SPOILER there...) Especially in literature, like Dickens or Scott, you want to know if the husband of the bride of Lamermoor is going to drown in the quicksands with his horse or not. (Hahaha... spoiler.. maybe...) Spoilers make your life better, but somehow, online psychics don't.

Sorry, even after googling I can't spell subtilties... subtilty...
