Maybe you should read the rules and see what place is for what, so you can avoid the disturbing stuff 😛

I know what you mean. Most of the time, there's just too many new threads and posts, and you suddenly feel overwhelmed. It happens a lot on boards with a lot of posters like /v/ and /a/.

Yeah, some users are underageb&, although the ones who claim to be one are usually trolls. But since there's no discernible difference between the quality of an underage user's post and a user who's 18+ years old, I don't really think it really matters.

There's occasionally some genuinely disturbing stuff there, like Shintaro Kago's works, and some of the gore pics. Also, the Uzumaki manga gets posted sometimes.

Oh, that's unfortunate. I hope you were behind 7 proxies. 4chan's mods usually don't do anything except for the occasional public ban (in an attempt to get attention). And they ban for NSFW content on SFW boards too, but the chance of getting banned for that depends on the board you're on. I wish they actually made an effort to moderate the boards.

b loses it's charm after a while

I never got what the attraction to /b/ was. Personally I think /b/ and a lot of other the other boards are quite disturbing, but I just ignore them. However, I do enjoy checking out /m/. I was surprised by how "clean" that board was, relative to the other boards. Plus some images and comments are damn funny, but only if you are familiar with mecha shows. I always get a kick out of watching the countdown to Gundam 00 on Sundays, and the reactions after the episode has aired.

And I must admit, if i weren't for 4chan, where would all those infamous memes that litter the internet nowadays com from? Rick'rolled anyone? 🤣

Edit: After reading the whole thread: I don't think 4chan should be taken seriously, and by that I mean nobody should start generalising it as a haven for pedophiles and sex predators just because of something like /b/. Even if some posters are not right in the mind, I think the majority of posters are underage or pre-pubescent. I never took 4chan seriously and always thought of it as a place to have some fun, to jack off, or to express the most outrageous thoughts that people can't get away with saying in real life. If it weren't for the fact that posters have the benefit of anonymity, the images that populate 4chan would be rife on other forums and message boards as well.

I never even knew about /b/ or its /y/ until this board. Curse you "OP" DX

There was a time in my life when I went there frequently, when it was still new and fresh, but after a while I got sick of it, and only go there rarely. The board I visit there is /a/ which is intended for anime and manga.
