The topic now is if you can survive and what'll you use as a weapon and the other is rather... What'll you do? <__< Well, they're sort of alike.

The best thing to do is to hole urself in ur house for as long as you can, fill up eveyr container with water (who knows hwen they'd cut the supply), board up every crevice and hope hte millitary will come soon, if not, get out those knives, sticks, whatever u can to drive zombies away, run to the nearest kmart or walmart and loot their stock of hunting rifles (provided that zombies havent infested the walmart or the stock hasnt already been pillaged)

Shotgun, hands down. Although I have lengthly arguments for why I'd choose it over the other ranged weapons (and 1/2 are due to personal experience or lack there of, so it really doesnt matter anyways) its an obvious winner over anything for close combat. It takes a lot of force to decapitate someone, and doing it again, and again . . not only would it be a lot of work, it would take its toll on whatever you were using (except maybe if you have a chainsaw). Beyond that, you are pretty much ****ed if you meet more than 1 at a time.

that's assuming of course ur backed into a corner of a house surrounded by the things, then a shotty is always useful for blowin those mothafkas back. The best weapon is still a semi automatic rifle, provided that you are calm, and can aim well. Only need one shot to down a zombie, and you can achieve that with a normal hunting rifle, or an M1 from the WWII days 😛

EDIT: with a bayonet attached to the rifle, you got urself a zombie killing machine, but i agree in close quarters, melee isnt as useful as a shotgun.

that'd be kind of cool to have a zombie invasion. i'd choose a machete 😀

Going Rena on zombies sounds kinda fun...

I don't know about anyone else, but I have a decent sized collection of reenactment quality weapons, most of which are swords or knives of some sort. I'm not really worried about having access to that sort of thing.

if they're reenactment and decoration wouldnt they fall apart after like a few swings? personally since i dont have weapons at my home, i'd use the pickaxe, shovel or pitchfork in my garage until i found something better. In World War Z, an entrenching tool was one of the best zombie killers.

I thought of something that is not actually in the list:

A Chainsaw

That would be actually ideal against zombies, because they are slow and you can probably behead 2 or 3 in one go. And is way more fun than killing them using a gun.

until u run out of gas, and chain saws dont behead 2 or 3 in one go, if you ever watch those movies carefully, chainsaws probably cut just as fast if not slower than a normal melee weapon. Sure you'd have killed like 20 zombies, but the huge noise will draw another 50+ to ur location 😛 . But i didn't think of that good choice for the poll.

Semi-automatic rifle. Powerful, accurate, shoots as fast as you can pull the trigger, can be used as a melee weapon, and ammunition can be found in many sports shops and gun stores.

As for chainsaws, I've worked with them before, and a good quality chainsaw wouldn't even notice flesh or bone. Plus, the small engine and relatively big gas tank would keep a chainsaw going for hours. Gasoline is not hard to get, and the chains can be found in most hardware stores. Noise is definitely a problem, but since chainsaws are actually pretty light, you can move around well enough.

It is heavy anyways.
Also, those dumb zombies prolly won't follow any sounds.

definetly a ranged weapon, i don't want those zombies anywhere near me.
automatic/semi-automatic are probably easiest to use. with a shotgun you have to keep reloading, a sniper rifle is hard to use if they get close, and a pistol..1 shot may not kill
