Hi everyone! Anyone here read the book World War Z, Zombie Survival guide or seen any zombie movies? Then how would you handle a zombie invasion?

Here is the generic zombie:

1. unfatigueable, they just keep on going and going
2. strength in numbers, there are millions of these guys
3. they can only be stopped by a headshot or decapitation
4. feel no pain, will keep moving unless head is incapacitated
5. mindless, have no intellegence, follow base instinct
6. powers and such are limited by their body, essentially if they're shot in the leg or have body parts worn or torn, they will not be able to move as well
7. can survive in any climate that doesnt destroy human flesh (they're just reanimated dead people, not vampires)
8. their bite will turn u into a zombie regardless
9. cannot reanimate already dead people.

So if you were faced by a horde of zombies, how would you take em out? or survive.

EDIT: tactics for killing zombies

Automatic weapons: waste ammunition, a head shot would take care of them, so all you need is aim, a good reload time and a good supply of bullets

Explosives- doesnt kill enough, zombies can live with missing body parts

Shotguns- only useful if your cornered by a mass of zombies, helps you blow a path thru the zombies, but hte noise will attract even more

Semi-auto rifles, hunting rifles- best weapon, quiet, and accurate

Melee weapons- be careful, that's all i can say 😛

I would carry a melee weapon around primarily, something sharp and long, capable of easy decapitation without being bitten.

You have to at least carry a pistol as well though. If you're seriously intending on fighting zombies, you need to fight from all ranges, and using a blunt object is melee weapon against zombies is far too dangerous.

This is all presuming that zombies really existed, of course.

if u read my description above, we're talkin about zombies that are limited by the powers of the human body, abeit a very destroyed and ravaged and decomposing human body, also mindless

I would personnally choose a shotgun just for its sheer power and it would look so cool killing zombies with it. probably also enjoyable too. even though i would only kill about 8 zombies and then die i would still choose the shotgun 🙂

Yeah, I read that, but there are zombies that are really slow, like in old school movies, and others that act more like berserkers, like in the movie "28 days later"

Faced against slow zombies, I would use a sword, maybe run around to make smaller groups of zombies, and even try to take them one on one, and star beheading them.

If they are fast zombies, then a machine gun, I don't think I am fast enough to even take one berserker with a melee weapon.

a sword would be useful, and a rifle for long range zombie disposal (a bow or a crossbow wouldn´t be bad either), and a shotgun too for short range survival. Still if i´m not able to get a decent skill in those weapons i won´t be able to survive. Almost forgot, a friend for keeping my back safe (of course i would keep his too)

A combat shotgun with a big barrel would do.

Do realise that a melee weapon is sort of useless when you get attacked by 20 zombies at time. You hit once, the weapon is stuck... 19 to go.
I personally wouldn't get too near to those zombies.
After all, they are specialised in unarmed combat. 😀
