One that hasn't been mentioned yet: Punctures. It's sick. And amazing.

I don't ready very much horror manga (maybe just because there aren't many of them in Italy), but I totally liked The Black Museum - Springald by Kazuhiro Fujita and Daydream (though this is a bit weird °°) ;D

I'll say:
Battle Royale
Uzumaki
Monster
Gyo

Altough i'd consider Battle Royale and Monster more psychological than horror.

I wouldn't consider most of things people mentioned as horror. But that's all about what you consider in a genre.

Nor are the two that I'm going to mention scary, but for a good monster manga, I'm with BioMeat: Necter, and Franken Fran. Both have a lot of classic elements of monster movies. Franken Fran is knowningly silly while having a very dark sense of humour(and it manages to be unsettling sometimes).

imma try recommend manga nobody mentionned:

im kinda surprised nobody mentionned: 1. Region which is like from the same author as BM: Nectar (BioMeat: Necter)
theres like 2. Mahou Shoujo of the End or 3.Mouryou no Yurikago or 4.Kyonyuu Dragon that look a bit like highschool of the dead

or like: 5.Ibara no Ou where ppl get eaten by monster (gruesome) and stuff

I liked 6. Enma too (its a oneshot...kinda fun to read =3)

  1. Satanister a fight between assassin and their victims...more or less an horror...still gruesome

  2. Dark Metro is kinda fked up too...you can read it if you got the guts to...hah...

9.Mushi to Medama to Teddy Bear is fked up in its own way...like killing with a spoon...omg...but like less bloody just so fked up still...lol...
