Hi,I'm looking for manga(not a specific one) where the mc lives a bad life(alcohol/abuse/poverty/lonely) and either he realizes he needs to get his ish together and actually does so(gets a job/stops drinking..) or maybe he helps someone and that person decides to take him under their wing and help him lead a happy life. Basically the mcs life going from bad to good. Thank you!!

The description sounds iffy but its one of the best mangas i've ever come across. Its for mature audiences though, so there is that.

It's basically the whole premise of Jisatsutou (Suicide Island). All the characters have deep issues, and are suicidal. They get the opportunity to change their life (or not) in a survival scenario.

By the same author, you can check Holyland which has some of the same themes. The protagonist is bullied at school and decides to learn boxing and gets involved in street fighting, changing his life for the better.

For a more light-hearted manga (those above can be depressing at times), check ReLIFE. A loser protagonist gets a chance to restart in high school.

NHK ni Youkoso!. You've probably already heard of this one. Fits quite well with your request: a neet is forced to socialize. I prefer the anime, but the manga is decent too.
