Male Readers and Yaoi

I was thinking, do guys read yaoi/shounen-si manga? Like for enjoyment.
I'm referring to straight guys too..
I was wondering if a guy would share his opinion in public^^
Because as a female manga reader, I don't mind saying that I read yuri.
Would a guy say that too?
NOTE: I'm don't mean about talking about it in RL, but in forums such as this..
People can be really closed minded, so I don't expect you shouting this in the streets 🤣
NOTE2 :I'm adding an "other" option, maybe someone wants to react in any other way.
facepalms at her own language
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.

If I had a fantasy self, it'd be a tentacle monster.
no, even shounen ai can be scary to normal straight guys, maybe because males are more prejudiced towards homosexuality. For most male straight manga readers yaoi is a taboo. That is what i think.

No offense or anything, but yaoi isn't really the sort of thing that interests me. It's a little too similar to smut, which I also don't read. Maybe if it was a little more romantic or something?
edit: I don't think just a taboo is going to stop a lot of guys. Have you seen some of mam's comments? (Also, taboo is kind of sexy)

No offense taken^^
That's what I wanted to see, a guy's point of view, and not speculations.
Thanks for the comments 😛

I voted "no". I tend to steer as far away from shounen ai and yaoi as I possibly can. Whilst I don't mind yuri and shoujo ai I don't actively search for them either.
Reason for avoiding GuyxGuy? Umm... ... ... ... still thinking ... ... ...
The way society is I guess 😕
Basically it's down to mental conditioning... I think. (This is really hard to put into words). ... ... ... I give up, I can't think of how to say it, but clothes and Victorian values are bad.
Clothes because they make anything they cover seem "bad". Hence why the ankle used to be considered erotic.
Victorian values because they created the concept of pornography, when Pompeii was discovered they found a lot of "vulgar" paintings and sculptures which were locked away (and might still be locked away). Only upper class men were allowed access to them. Women, children and poor (lower class) people weren't allowed to see them because it was thought they would become corrupt and spend all their time masturbating rather than having sex and producing offspring.
... ... ... I made an account just to post that jumbled non-sense? 😲
Lose - Opposite of win, to misplace something/someone. e.g. To lose your way, to lose a fight.
Loose - Opposite of tight. e.g. To have a loose screw, to loosen a jar lid.

It makes sense (what you said), such ways of thinking and actions are driven from what happened and done by people that made others think someting is worong.. (yeah, it's really hard to put into words, espesially with my limited english).
It's like, some important/influencial peole said something was wrong, and it was taken as such (simply because those people didn't like it).
Such inpretsion stays..
But if that's the only reason for not doing something, you shouldn't give up on it^^
I mean, when I was really young, homosexuality seemed strange and not right to me, until I grew my own underdstanding for things, than folowing prejudice..

I think in order for me to read those kinds of manga I'd first need a girlfriend who reads that kind of manga. Both finish the ones we're reading and swap manga with each other.
My taste in manga is more shounen than shounen-ai, lol. Although I have tried reading some shoujo as well. I think reading some shoujo manga is about as far as I'll ever get to over coming that social stigma (correct term? 😕 ).

Your avatar implies that you don't mind incest, anyways.

i've read a few shounen-ai by accident(mass downloads came back to bite me) and would maybe read more if a good enough story was there.

I personally don't go to find yaoi in my manga. If it comes up in one I read, well that's what happens.
I wouldn't tell people that I read it because I consider it more to be when the manga focuses on the yaoi.

I've definitely read some shounen ai, but it's just cause a particular manga was recommended and it had shounen ai in it. As for yaoi, no I haven't read any but it's not like I'm disgusted by it or anything. I'm straight but pretty open minded about this stuff.

was the question - did i ever read yaoi or do i actively search for yaoi?
I said yes to first, cause there yaoi where both character seemed equally dominant - not like quite a bit of yaoi which is subservient and dominant roles assigned.
Second question - no. I never actively go searching for yaoi/shounen-ai or yuri/shoujo-ai.
Cause? Not i am closed minded but story usually just don't add up for me.
Too much evidence!
