I used to assume all women would like yaoi too but later I know a number of female readers who dislike it. Oddly enough, a few of them actually read yuri.

i avoid all yaoi,shounen-ai, yuri and shoujo-ai.

seriously guys, holding hands with a guy doesn't make someone gay, being attracted to men makes someone gay. there's just a big social stigma on guys holding hands and not girls. (look into it, sociology-gender is actually pretty interesting)
but thanks to this thread, i got bored and dl'ed some naruto shounenai. atleast it was funny

Every person that is obsessed is irritating (if you mean "otaku like" obsessed).. But not every fan is obsessed^^
I really like yaoi/shounen'ai- never heart anyone by that^^ (except maybe prejudice people?.)

for the first time I saw the description of yaoi genre I was like 'eeew! how come girls like that?!'. and even now I can't explain why. though girls are more open minded...
I see guys stay away from yaoi just because they don't accept fags. in movies when male friends slept together (just slept) it's funny to see them VERY scared in the morning, while girls sleeping together in one bed is quite common.
I do search for yaoi manga but for now gays in real life for me is a big no-no-no. even in movies, even anime.
yaoi is more like some fiction, you gotta chill out, guys 😉

Well, consider that yaoi is written and drawn toward what females like to see:
A.) bishounen guys in budding romance situations. These are shounen-ai or softcore yaoi, but they're just like shoujo, only with 2 boys. Or,
B.) penetration and toys (hardcore yaoi). This takes the voyeurs into account, among other things.
Yuri and hentai is written and drawn more toward what men would like to see, which is why it generally doesn't thrill me and it thrills most men to pieces. To each his own. Go with what you like. (I have found some hentai that I like that's drawn a bit softer though.)
If you've ever thought or said "Nice Guys finish last" and really meant it, then you should probably read this LJ post by DivaLion. It's incredibly insightful whether you're male or female.

I downloaded Kamen Teacher thinking it was the comedy manga made by our beloved FUJISAWA Tohru, but after 2 pages it was QUITE CLEAR, I DIDN'T WANT TO READ THAT (I didn't see anything, but I didn't like the way it was going)
