I do.
You do?!
How great is that. 😀
Wow. Brutelord, you strike me as the strong and silent type. I never knew two syllables could excite such a reaction.
And no. I don't ever read those. I have it filtered out of my releases list. As for why... I'm straight? And pretty everything else Liria said. I don't even read shoujo ai or yuri.

I do, but I'm not straight...I hope your excitement remains in tack regardless of that fact.

lol, I'm good like that I guess...
I think it all depends on the guy. Wheather he is open minded or not, or wheather he is homophobic or feels uncomfortable with the idea. I just think that it depend on their point of veiw, because its like reading any other book, people in general go towards what they like and feel comfortable reading, so it only makes sense that it matters on the level of comforbility with the topic....

All of my friends are guys (precise demographics: male, ages 35-45) and they read BL. It's not their favorite genre, but they read enough to provide interesting conversation. Also, they do tend to prefer shounen ai over yaoi, and stories that are plot intensive or have good character developement over pointless angst.
I read yuri, shoujo ai, and hentai. Not my favorite genres, but I don't see why my own gender should restrict what I "should" read. Same for guys.

I occassionally read yaoi. When the story is decent, having more than the standard forced love theme, a yaoi manga gives me a different perspective on affectionate relationships.
On purpose without a purpose

I dont read shonen-ai or shojo ai manga
I do read the hentai however, but only if the "receiver" looks female, I mean to the point where you can't tell without forcibly stripping them.
An example would be Yamashita from Linebarrel or Husky(?) from +Anima
I am totally Straight, just to clarify. Ima go listen to sir mix-a-lot now

I love yuri and shoujo-ai, but I can't stand yaoi/shounen-ai. Every time I come across something like this, I feel utterly grossed out and exit the page as fast as I can. The thought of two guys together disgusts me. I'm completely straight and don't even have a slight interest in it.

Nice stats and no.
I don't even read yuri and
my tastes in hentai are strict.
Seconded.
As I've said in another thread, Yaoi/BL freaks the bejeezus outta me.

Didn't know guys set standards that hentai should meet. 😛
Anyway from the stats it seems that guys simply don't read yaoi, and those who do and admit it are a few. Truly sad...

I think that's one of the many reasons why some shoujo lovers turned to yaoi, to see a affectionate relationship develop between two characters without the much needed drama. Sometimes I think some shoujos should be done the same way yaoi/shounen-ai are done, maybe then I would appreciate them all the more.

I dunno. It's kinda related . I'm a girl but I've always tried to stay away from Yuri and GL, just in case it makes me start questioning. I read yaoi, but then I read somewhere that even lesbians read yaoi because they can transfer the emotions to those situations. It's not that i'm against it, just gay people have so many problems. I just want to focus on the side I know for sure about.
Oh, but I know a friend who draws yaoi, and I'm pretty sure he's straight. Someone was making fun of him, but I wanted to give him a high five. It was just the one picture though.
slowly but surely, the photoshop skills are coming. Very slowly.

I'm not one to know, but wouldn't BL suffice instead of Yaoi?
