I've had my experiences. Like, the house I lived in when I was younger, the room I was in was always extremely uncomfortable. I remember once I was sitting on my bed, and a bottle cap I had left on my desk was hurled at my head. Other things happens a lot, like I'd wake up and my door was shut and locked, my radio would be turned to static, and my fan would be switched off. Really creepy.
The house I rent now isn't as bad, but I think there is something funky going on. Like in my room we'll hear like a conversation coming from like the living room, even though no one is in there and the tv's off. Another time I was at the house alone, and suddenly I heard loud banging, and I left my room and all the doors in the hall way were shut. 😐
I don't know, just weird things you can't really explain. 😕

Ever since I was three years old, I've supposedly had the ability to communicate with spirits. It's been quite a while since I've heard anything from the other side, but I have carried on conversations with them. I don't remember many specifics, unfortunately, but rather the feelings left from these interactions.
One in particular was a woman wearing a blue dress who was very kind and made me laugh, I felt safe with her. Also, I've heard two gentlemen discussing something, who then told me to mind my own business when I asked if I could help. I was a little put off by this, but dismissed them as they had me.
I have seen both of my deceased cats around the house, even felt them climb up on me numerous times.
Finally, I have had glimpses of the future in various ways. I continue to get these but they never show me anything that I can use until later on in life. Figures. 🙄

I like Watermelon's ghost story in the other thread.
Here's a story from my homecountry, Brunei. (it's in South east Asia btw XD)
One of my country's landmark is the WATER VILLAGE. (check wikipedia for more info). The houses there are in close proximity with each other..and some/most of the old houses are made from Wood and the roofs are made of Zinc. And there is a famous ghost story bout "Hantu Bungkus" (*rough translation: The Wrapped ghost).
this pic...WARNING: CREEPY..and very CORPSE-like. (..err..I might post the pic link during the day cuz I'm too scared to look for some ghost piccies at times like this!! XDD;;;; 😉 ..You can google for the image by typing one of these names: *Hantu Pocong or Hantu Bungkus *
(It is normal in muslim funerals that the bodies of the deceased are wrapped in white cloth before being buried into the ground). Since the corpse's feet are also wrapped...the ghost can only move in a series of hops/giant leaps (it is believed that they can often hop at a huge distance)..
ANYHU..Back to the Brunei Water village story...
There are several anecdotal evidence in some of the houses there that they could hear "Thuds" on their roofs..at nights. (usually Friday nights)
There's this one house, the family could hear a "Thud" coming from the Toilet's ceiling, then another 'Thud' on the bedroom, then another bedroom to the other. and then the final 'thud' was heard RIGHT on the CEILING ABOVE THEM! (the entire family happened to be in the living room at that time)
It is believed that the sounds are coming from the Hantu Bungkus (Wrapped ghost) ..hopping to one house to another.....
*To be honest, I have goosebumps while typing this post...prolly b'coz it's almost 2 AM here.. 😐 and cuz my window is open right now...and the cold wind is blowing...EEeek!!

ummm.okayy,i like this thread :]
story:
[i was browsing a halloween special jap mag and found this, turns out its a myth for kids not to stay out too late, anyway, here it is]
so this woman was raped before she was killed on the street by a couple of drunk men.she wanted revenge so bad, that every night,as punishment to the people, she would kill anyone going to the street she was killed in late at night.
[heres the actual story]
late at night,a girl working at a call center was walking home, due to the fact that there were no taxis or trains available.she came across the street that everyone was talking about, where a woman was raped and killed.the woman was said to be screaming terribly for help that the men who raped her sliced the line of her mouth all the way from jaw to jaw to make her shut up.the woman was terribly hurt, but still somehow managed to scream for help.the men were so frustrated that once one of them finished raping her, they killed her right away.the call center girl was so scared that she walked, nearly jogged,to leave the street.midway of her "walking" she saw a woman with long black hair up to her knees wearing a hospital gown and a surgical mask.the woman was following her, gaining on her even though the call center girl was jogging, and the stalker/woman was just walking.when the call center girl turned around to look, the woman was no longer there.she sighed in relief and slowed down a bit.and then! the woman was right next to her! the woman's eyes all red and murderous.the woman then took off the surgical mask and revealed a bloody slit that stretched from ear to ear, like a giant eye.thw woman then said "would you like to replace my damaged mouth?"ripping the call center girl's jaw apart from her face.the "slit woman" left the call center girl bleeding to death, getting the girl's jaw to her pile of jaws she's collected from numerous people that walked down that deadly path.
*note:the reason why the "slit woman" was wearing a hospital gown was because she was brought to the hospital but was announced dead on arrival.as for revenge she also killed every single one of the people that was in the hospital that day.

I didn't experienced anything strange in my life as i remember, exept one time where i freaked out a little to be honest.
Well with my friend we were walking back home after eating a pita together and on the way home ( should have been around 1 h ) we passed by some flower ( in memory of the dead ) put on a "lampadaire" ( thing that ligth the street but don't remember how its spell in english ) And just before we pass it the ligth went of for only this one in the street, and the ligth come again just after we passed it, more that was just here that i separate from my friend an finish my way home alone.
That time i said myself if i have to be killed at nigth that would be the perfect one and feel somehow refreshed to atain my house ( i still had a hard time to sleep lol ).

I lived next to a cemetery when I was growing up, and I never felt weird about it or anything.
But I've had my share of supernatural things, more than I'll waste space telling here, and stick to the weirdest single incident.
Our house wasn't actively haunted, but :
The shadow on my wall. It was this creepy, human looking thing with impossibly long arms and an almost triangular head. I woke up seeing it.
Why I was not scared right then: Stubborn little girl who didn't believe in nonsense like that.
Being a practical little girl who knew all about shadows and light, I initially thought of the teddy net in my room shaped like a triangle, and stuck myself in front of it in all sorts of ways. No change in the shadow. I tried it with nearly everything in my room until I stuck myself in front of the window-the only source of light. The thing didn't move an inch.
It wasn't until I stuck my hand right in front of it's own, and saw my hand, a dim morning shadow, and it's hand, a dark shadow that overlapped mine. I was just plain scared, all of a sudden, and *ran *out of the room in seconds.
Far as I know, the thing never came back again. It wasn't until much later, when I thought about it, that I realized the long fingers had been stretched out in the direction of my pillow.
Not kidding.
...Actual communication with spirits, I won't say that I have the ability because I can't prove it. I'm also a lucid dreamer, so things just pop up there. Like Raeryn said, you just sometimes hear it-You communicate with something human-like, and for me, they always have a certain emotion, a feeling around them. And sometimes, you get the wrong spirit, and they tell you so in more than words.
Whether I believe in it all; Usually, I dismiss almost anything unless I have proof of it. But I do have personal 'experiences', so I feel like something, whatever it is, exists.

STORY, that im reposting... just a campfire story...
theres this women who lives in a rural area with few people...
recently her husband died from cancer... after a while, the women got really lonely by herself, and one day she went to a medical clinic, asking if she can get a baby using medical process using sperm samples.... so the doctor agrees and the women was impregnated...
after couple monthes, the child was born, and the women was really rejoiced... but she also noticed a weird birthmark on her neck... which really freaked her out at first but she came to just ignore it....
but after the girl was 5 years old, she began speaking decently but habitually she only said one thing only "mommy, am i pretty?". and at first she thought she was being cute and all... but after awhile she was fed up with her going "mommy am i pretty?" all the time... so one time after a long stressful work, returning home, the girl came to her and kept going "mommy am i pretty? mommy am i pretty?" and she was getting really annoyed, so she yelled and told her to shut her traps... but she kept saying the same thing over and over again, so out of anger she grabbed a random object which being a lamp, and struck her.... which resulted in killing her...
the women was frightened, scared, and remorseful.... and felt horrible and was in despair for killing her own child, but at the same time she didnt want to go to prison, so she decided to hide her body, by chopping her up and putting her in a bag.... and she dumped her body off a small bridge near her town and drove off...
after 2 years of being lonely again, she decided to use the same process to get pregnant again.... but weirdly the girl had the same birthmark on her neck which freaked her out.... but after a few weeks she thought it was some dumb coincidence, and decided to live normally.... but after she was 5 years old again... the girl said the same thing as the previous child, going "mommy, am i pretty? mommy am i pretty?".... getting all frightened, she ended up killing her 2nd child again... and hid her body again using the same way she did before..... and she decided not to have a child again....
but after 6 years, she finally decided to have a 3rd child again thinking she really cant live alone forever...... but as usual the 3rd child had the same birthmark on her neck.... and the women just out of fright but yet felt more dedicated decided to ignore it..... but after 5 years, the girl ended up saying the same thing as usual going "mommy, am i pretty?" ...... and the women asks her just out of small curiosity,..."why are you keep saying that?" ...
and the girl goes "why do you keep killing me ?"...

Nevr really experienced anything creepy but I suppose it might be my imagination.
One of the popular famous ghost stories in my country is about nautch girls (olden day dancers). There are many stories how there were these dancers who would dance to entertain kings, noblemen, rich people and British imperialists too. Some of them were prostitutes and even like a kept women showered with gifts by their 'lord'. Well, they used to wear anklets with small bells around which we call Payal and they make a jiggly noise when one walks in them.
In my home, when I was kid, I always had a hard time sleeping and close to say 1 am or so, I could hear unmistakable sounds of payal walking around and close to our house though the bedroom was on the second floor. We lived in the suburbs where the night was very quiet so you could hear anyone talking or walking by the street. I was always too scared to investigate and would hide under a sheet or blanket. My family are good sleepers so I never had anyone to experience this with me. However, now there isnt such noise but I think I only heard these noises when I slept in my mom's bedroom so I try to avoid that.

Argh...pocong has GOT to be one of the weirdest ones in Malay folklore.
...
and also one of the freakier ones.
Just imagine...a big tampon chasing you by hopping around D=
I never knew it also went by the name of hantu bungkus though...but it sounds more appropriate xD
Now, it's time for another series of Pontianak(banshee) short stories! Just to be clear, the Pontianak is one of the most, if not the most, feared ghost in Malay Folklore. They're usually dressed in a white...sleeping gown (?), with long black hair, and long sharp fingernails.
Once, my friend was walking back home late at night after hanging out with a bunch of friends who lives just a few blocks away.
Now I've walked the path he has to take to get home, and let me tell ya...it's pretty darn scary. The are no street lights until the end of the street and big trees cover most of the little light you get from the night sky.
He's done this a bunch of times so it's not really a scary thing for him.
One day..while he was walking down the street, in the corner of his vision, stood a figure in white with long black hair.
He immediately knew what it was and was quite shocked by it.
Luckily, the thing was facing away from him, so he quietly walked past it and prayed that it never turned around.
He got home safely, but was quite traumatized by it.
This also happened to my sister once when she was driving.
It suddenly appeared on the sidewalk, but facing away from my sister. She did the same thing and prayed it never looked her way.
Now, you may think that they're probably only seen by the Malays as we've been told about it since we were little, so here's one that happened to a Caucasian guy.
Another one I know of that happened here in Australia was told to my dad in a fishing conversation he had with his friends.
It happened during twilight when two men were fishing at the docks.
As the two were fishing, they saw a white figure flying in their direction. At first, they believed it was a pelican.
Until it got closer.
The "pelican" flew towards them and went straight for the bucket where they kept their caught fishes and of course, started eating them.
Obviously, they instantly tried to scare it away until they realize it was not a bird that's eating their catch.
The thing stopped eating and raised its head to face them. What they saw made them drop their things and get the hell out of there...(shit, I would too!)
Gah...that's enough for today. I'm getting goosebumps from typing all that D=

One of my closest friend seems to be more sensitive to paranormal things than others.
Three of her closest friends, including me, had similar dreams on the same night of her house on fire. The scenery of how each of "us" saw my friend's house was quite different, but we all saw her house up in flames. (this however, never happened in real life.) A few days later, her great grandmother, who was the wife of the person who built the house, passed away.
A few weeks later, the faucets in her house would randomly turn on without anyone being there. Coincidence? Even I'm not so sure about that.
A very detailed dream I had 5 years ago came true in 2009. It was horrible, and dreadful. An actual nightmare came true. It just shows that we live in a very small world. Anything can happen to you.
And a few years ago, I woke up before 3am everyday for a week. I didn't feel any strange presence or anything but.. just waking up before "dead time" gives me the chills. XD

I'm highly sensitive to ghosts, same with my mother. I have seen the ghost of an eleven year old girl wearing, what I think is, a 17th century dress. She isn't evil or anything, but she followed me from my old apartment to my new one down the hall. Don't know why she followed me, probably related to me or I resemble someone she once knew.
My friend's family had a very interesting experience. His mother saw him sitting nude on the toilet seat, but she had just passed by his room and he was asleep on his bed. She got everyone up and showed them the doppelganger. It turned its head in a jerky way, like its neck was badly injured, and screamed at them and vanished. They had a priest bless the whole house and haven't seen anything since.
@eccentrrick: The most common form of psychic ability, premonition. I knew that Chinese girl who went missing a while ago would be found dead in a forest. I saw massive birds crash into two buildings and destroy them, that was three weeks before 9-11. I was right in both cases. Kinda scary sometimes to see the future. One thing I saw scares me almost to death: my own possible deaths. I survived two of the four so far.
Never doubt your reasons.
Never doubt your cause.

Holy freaking crap! 😲
How did your friend react to it? Did he get to see his doppleganger?

...wait, doesn't that mean you've died twice already? >.O
