Bleh, I just had to read this thread a 2:30 in the morning with all the lights off, right before I need to take a shower. And I just know my cat is going to decide to freak me out. I haven't had a cat for long and I'm still not quite used to having a silent stalker around the house.

As to my weird experiences, I know that I've had quite a few that I've just plain forgotten. More that once I can recall feel a sense of unreality, wondering "is this really happening?" but for some reason I can't remember the causes, lol.

Well, my parents have related a lot of spiritual experiences, being Christians. My mom has spoken of seeing the robes of an angel going around a corner downstairs. They've both said they've heard the voice of God on occasions. And continuing on that vein there have been many many strange coincidences (or not), such as me being born exactly a year to the day after my dad became a Christian and prayed for a child (after many years of being unable to have children).

Somehow, I'm getting an image of Joan of Arc ( "-_-)

ah, a confrontation. Ive heard of those. It's been said that if you have the courage, they wont disturb you 😃

Heh Heh...that sounded like my old man. Back in the old days when he was traveling the world, during the time he was in Brazil, he rented a room that was widely rumored to have been haunted. It was said the all the previous tenants ran out screaming and moved out the next day. That night.....nothing happen to him. 🤣

However...it went differently for something else.

He also got a odd job killing snakes and killed a multitude of snakes daily. Soon after he had a dream in which "the snake king" (described as a 3.1meter tall cobra while rearing) appeared and said to to him. Cease killing my subjects or face my retribution. He laughed at it but when he was chopping up snakes the next day he cut his arm badly and he took that as a sign to stop.

There you go, a hospital story. Hospitals, they're always nice and calm during the day...but freeeeeaky during the night. I have another one about the time my older sister was admitted to the hospital, but lets save that for another time 😛 .

Yup they are good sites for ghost hunts...especially the abandoned ones.

Maybe if he had not laughed at the matter, and acted like a gentlemen towards the "snake king" it would not have happened? 😕 At least thats what i think...

I agree, I mean, wouldn't the last thing you want to do is piss off the one who's threatening you?

Well you know how it's like. He's a skeptic until something actually happens, besides he never said he quit because of the dream rather it's the injury that prevented him from continuing that job. If the injury wasn't so severe he'd probably continued.

My grandma has some ghost stories as well, I'll try to get them outta her sometime.

Interestingly last time I had a conversation about the existence bigfoot she overheard it and said " Sure they do I've seen them. There had aways been ** mischievous hairy
'wild-men' ** living in the forested mountains behind her cottage when she was a girl. They were very shy and ran if they sensed you got near them. They weren't that big though, they were human sized and bipedal. They made whooping and howling noises...(sounds like monkeys) and sometimes would wander to the cottage and peek through the windows. Over the years though they weren't seen that often and finally just stopped appearing.

I kept thinking she was talking 'bout monkeys 'cept they were bipedal.

Oh, and about the cats- stop it please? They are normal cuddly creatures and nothing more. It kinda hurts to read about them in a spooky light cause I have a pet kitty (tabby) and I don't want to treat her badly because I end up scared of her. It was really hard to even look at her after I read Pet Semetary. It scared me bad. I can see other people getting freaked at their cuddlies and mistreating them too.. not so much mistreating as just ignoring or neglecting, but... its not good to spread rumors about the cuddlies.

Please don't be scared of kitties! Not a one is evil, even the feral ones. They just get associated alot with superstitions and such because of their stealthy behavior and reflective eyes. And their nature is much more independent than a dogs, who are pack-oriented. I love cats very much. We have 8 at my house. I've seen lots of cats suffering in one way or another at my jobs at a vet clinic and an animal shelter. Its tough. Way too many cats and not enough people that give a damn. Even feral cats generally are not at all aggressive and would rather leave a compromising situation. They are only aggressive when cornered and they fear death.
Anyways, moral of the story is: cats are good, adopt another one if possible, and spay and neuter! Sorry, had to add that!

PS. I tried looking between Watson's (cat's) ears and didn't see anything. Watson's so laid back he could care less my face was shoved in his.

I am not scared of my kitty, I love her very much. But there are times when she has done strange things and looked at me and it just chilled me to the bone. The reflective eyes and an independant mind like you said.. just a sudden feeling that she isn't the same cuddly that takes over my bed every night. I like to keep those moments few and far between.

LOL, my kids might argue that "no cat is evil" statement, one of our cats (originally named Dallas at the animal shelter) has been nicknamed "Evil Tex"! Don't worry, I love him & know he's not really evil, but he does have a violent side. 🤣

I've never had a cat that I seriously thought was seeing ghosts/spirits/whatever. Cats just spaz out sometimes, chase bugs people can hardly see, stuff like that.

(All four of our kitties are 100% indoor cats, have been adopted from shelters, & have been spayed/neutered...and will probably be joined by a fifth soon... 😀 )

Heh, get used to it, cats will always seem to know more then you. Mine is 18 yrs old and going senile and still looks like she knows too much and still likes to beat up chihuahuas and the like. Yup they can see into the great beyond....wooooooooooooooo.

P.S. Cats rule and all that.....XD

Ah, here's another one.

This happened to two of my classmates.

In 2003, my classmates had a barbecue at the beach from senja till night(for those of you who know Singapore, this happened at Pasir Ris beach). After eating and what not, my two friends needed to go to the bathroom. Conveniently, the toilet near their pit was out of order so they had to go to the one further from there(i forgot how far but imagine how far toilets are to each other at beaches you know >_<).
By the time they reached the toilets, it had gotten dark. After they've finished with their business, they found that there are two ways back to the barbecue - a dark path with a big tree with vines that looks like hair (i dunno the english name for it but my native language, we call it the witch tree), and a lighted path with a few average sized trees. As you may have guessed, they picked the lighted path(heck, i would've too). While walking back to the barbecue, both of them saw something white float from one tree to another. None of them said anything about this as they thought it might've been a plastic bag. Later, the white object started to float towards them and as it got closer, they saw that it was a banshee(as whites would call it, though we call it pontianak) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontianak_%28folklore%29.
Though it may be a folklore, its pretty real since I have so many anecdotes on it.
Like anyone else would, they started to run like hell. Every few meters or so, the thing would appear in front of them! After a few of these "teleports", it stopped. Realizing this, my friends thought it was all over. Guess what they did next.
THEY TURNED AROUND! and the thing was RIGHT BEHIND THEM! They ran like crazy to the camp then.
After this incident, my two friends were so traumatized that they couldn't sleep properly for two weeks.

This beach is known to be haunted. Partly because i think when the Japanese took over, they used it as an execution site. Which reminds me, i have some anecdotes on ghost appearances of soldiers from the war which were experienced by my mother and my aunts...but next time 😛

Heck, this could be my longest post EVAAAAAR!

Are you talkin about the movie "The Ring" or something else? If you are, and you are also talking about the english version, its not scary. Its more like...MEH. The japanese version is freakier (Ju On i think is its name).

I've seen the Ringu "tape" separately from the movie, too, and it freaked me out! I watched the 'phone intently for a few minutes afterwards!
[Ju-On is "The Grudge", Ringu is "The Ring".]
