Shelby and I love my name and its not super common but I share my name with a good number of people (at least enough to finally find my name sold on a keychain but when I was younger it was impossible).

My real name is Alexandra, but anyone that knows me remotely well calls me Zan. I introduce myself like that, so even my boss and coworkers address me as such. There are a few people who still call me Alex because they prefer it. I don't really mind, but Zan is my preference.

I think it would at least be better if people changed it up a bit with the spelling like Emelie, or MLE or Mellie or emylee...

Oh god, I hate that pretentious naming. I once knew a girl named Jessikkah, she hated it.

yeah i know a girl called "serah" its really annoying

and emily is a cute name, even if its common

It's good to be careful on the internet and not exposing your identity and that sorta stuff, but, truth to be told, it doesn't help much - tracking you down is easier than you think.

But, whatever.

My real name is Anastasia. It's pretty common back home, but I don't meet other Anastasias often. I wan't fond of it much at first, but when I went to study overseas, I came to appreciate it more. It's a bit difficult, though, because it's long, and sometimes people carelessly shorten it and call me 'Ana', and I absolutely hate it. Anna is a different name, and my name is NOT Anna. I heard 'Anastasia' can be shortened as 'Stacey', but it pisses me off even more. Back home people call me 'Nastia', and it's a common short version for 'Anastasia' (no one will call you 'Anastasia' in Russia, 'Nastia' is what it goes for), but since I study overseas and it sounds a lot like 'nasty', I was teased a lot in middle school so I gave up, and people call me Anastasia now. Yes, fully and noble, like that.
