When do you start calling girls "women"?

i would say early 20's but girls become women when they're more aware of what's happening around them and taking things more seriously and not just worrying about hair and makeup while there are more important things in life, when they realize that fact, that's when i would say girls become women.

Girls around my own age I call girls, and I'm over 30. It also depends on the relationship that I have with the girls, a friend 10 or 20 year older than me I call a girl, if I don't know her, she is a woman.

I still call girls my age girls and I'm 19. I remember being at work though, I work in a museum, and I was in the shop. A little kid was buying something and his mother said 'Give the lady your money'. I was like LADY! Until then I never though of myself as grown up, I still have a hard time accepting the fact I'm 20 in a few months. In general though I guess girls start being women around early 20s.
That's also a good point. I was 16 when a mother said to her kid 'give the man your money", at that time I was defenitly still a boy. But talking to young kids I would probably say woman about a girl around early 20s and older.

Depends on how old you are since you might get into the habit of calling anyone younger than you a girl even if you're both in your thirties, I've seen it happen many times.
