Sony intends to release 200+ games by late 2008 and I'm betting some of those will be awesome and exclusive 😛

A little misquote there, it was 380 games by march 2008 and that turned out to be for the world. For the US it was 145 with 105 of them being retail games the other 40 being PSN downloads. here's a link to that -->http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/22/sony-clarifies-380-ps3-games-comment-145-for-us/[/url]

Since I didn't know the actual number I just said "200+". They should just put all of their games there since it's easy to download and really fast.

Why do you avoid microsoft? I really enjoy my 360 and would go on to list why but that would make me sound like a fanboy which I am not (I want a PS3 but until some better games come out, and until I have the money, I'll hold off).

Also for the record as much as I think that I come across as anti-Sony, I really don't hate their products just the way that they [the company] come across as being stuck-up pigs (thinking that 600$ is the target price that hardcore gamers will pay is just one example of this). Now I know that there are rumors that the price will drop (not talking about the 60GB for 499$, that's not a price drop just a price reduction to phase the 60GB out) but for me I really don't think that I'll be needing a PS3 till 2009 since last time I checked Square-Enix wasn't expecting FFXIII to be done until late 2008 for Japan.

I'll probably add to this later but right now I wanna go to bed.

How is 500 a lot for a PS3? The PS2 cost more when it was first launched here in Sweden.

500$ is a lot when the most expensive system at the time was the 360 premium which was 400$ (and to top it off the 500$ version of the PS3 came with the same size HDD that the 400$ 360 came with). What it all came down to is that you could pick up a 360, a couple of games, and a year of xbox live for the same price as a 60GB PS3 by itself.

The PS2 was 299$ when it launched in the states if I'm not mistaken.

when it comes to the consoles it all comes down to the companies and the games that they make for the systems. If your a hardcore fps fan your crazy not to get a 360, their fps are generally better then the other systems. If your an rpg/adventure fan then ps3 is the way to go, it might not be the case at the moment but as soon as we start seeing the games they promised such as white knight and heavenly sword then it will take the spot in that area. As for wii, well seeing as america misses out alot of the great games the japanese get I would say this system is still for the group play and less "hardcore" gamers. But I am excited about metroid thats for sure.

Like I said, it was more than 500 in SWEDEN when it was launched. If you consider the things you get in the PS3 then it is really cheap. A blu ray reader is easily 1000 dollars and you get it for free. PS3 has nearly no faults except for maybe the fan making some noise and even that is very rare. The 360 breaks at least once per console.
