Oh yeah! If you're talking about concepts.

I'm not a great player of sports, so lots of the finer points escape me, but I love shounen manga.
Examples:
Whistle, Fantastista = soccer. I'm like "What?" I don't get soccer at all, but after reading these, I find myself watching it on TV sometimes.

Hikaru no Go = Go. I know the basic moves, but there are a lot of technical terms in the manga that I don't understand. Still this is one of my all time favorite manga.

March Comes in Like a Lion = shogi. Other than 'Japanese Chess', I don't get it. So I guess I should try Shion no Ou.

Well, I read Ten without knowing how to play Mahjong. (On that note I know how to play now. It's hard to get 4 people to play though...)

But well, plot I don't understand... I sitll don't know what Veritas was about.

Yep, surprisingly both about vampires. Vampire Knight (at one time I got completely confused with the storyline, but continued anyway) and Vampire Girl (never understood it until I decided to look online for the meaning). 🤣

I read Veritas and still pretty puzzled over a lot of the plot.
As to concepts, Shion no Ou because I have no knowledge of Shogi whatsoever.

Akagi - I don't understand the first thing about Mahjong, but I've always been a fan of mind games.

Hikaru no Go - Don't know anything about Go either. I didn't finish this, but might still do so if I'm ever in the mood.
