I think it has changed some. Mostly in cars and a bit in cell phones. In the next 20 years I don't really see a big difference. Though you never know I guess. I've seen previews of future technology that's lookin' close to being done. So perhaps it'll change drastically in the next 20 years.

imo, technology these days seem to be a more advanced development than 20 years ago. Smaller, more powerful etc. But nothing really springs to mind when it comes to new major technology for the benefit of mankind and such. For the next 20 years, i'd say 75% will be furthering existing technology and the rest looking at new tech.

Either they build environmentally friendly technology or most lands including New York have sunk to the bottom of the sea...

it's gonna keep changing even faster i suppose. i dont wanna even think how it was from my generation(20 years old) to my parents. vaguely pre-historic

I do think technology has advanced greatly in just this short amount of time. We may not notice how great the changes are because it's happened over time. Kiddo showed some great examples (happy late birthday by the way). I think it's going to continue to advance even more at the same speed.

The robot dance was cool! When I was a child, the robots just made strange noises and their "eyes" glowed ... Anyways, CPUs, mobile phones and laptops, are different and much better compared to the 90s (as far as I can tell) 🙂

My cousin knows this more than anyone... about 20-25 years ago in college he used a computer (not a micro-computer, those gigantic things with a heyboard in a therminal) and now he has much more then that in a laptop... also the wires for his sound/home theater system, in the old days it was basicaly coaxial cables and now they are all optic.
A goog example of a large technology advance it the movie industry... take a look at the old star wars and the new ones... and do keep in mind that the old ones were a break through in special effects for their time.

Or compare the graphics of Elder Scrolls Arena to those of Elder Scrolls Oblivion. Same platform, same company, same game series, only 14 years apart.
Same about the internet, 6 years ago getting a 2 mb file took 2-3 hours on dialup, now on regular cable it takes around 2 minutes, with a few variations, but still nothing compared to dial-up.
I haven't been around for too long to know differences, but I still remember the CRT screens that ruined my eyesight ;_;

I also forgot to mention the evolution of wireless conection... from IR to our current 108Mb Wi-Fi... and Doc.. AC deserve to go down to history books.
