add gender and age input for user comments

I was looking for a new manga to read and i was looking over the comments for different mangas and when i found one that had decent reviews i read it and to my surprise i didn't enjoy it 2 much. Then i got the idea that most of the people who commented on the manga and said it was good were those who are much younger than me.
What im getting at is to add a input of age and gender option so that when some looks at the comment on a manga it would tell you there age and gender right next to there name. Sense people of the same gender and same age group tend to feel the same way about certain things it would help people to know who there getting the info on the manga from.

First of all, this is unfair discrimination.
This will also be problematic, since many either hide their age or don't display it at all.
Secondly, it greatly depends on taste.
Both genders and like/dislike the same things regardless of their age or gender.
Reading comments is fun and all, but in the end it comes to what you prefer and not somebody else.
I don't say people of the same gender/age never have similar tastes. But it's not a given.
If it helps people though, I can't object.
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.

Or lie.
I don't see the difficulty in just going to the reviewers user page if it really matters to the poster. Just do it for the review that makes you most interested in reading the manga.

This. As much as I read the comments posted here and other sites, I won't base my view on a manga on another person's opinion.
And well, if you really want to know the age and gender of the reviewer, just click their username. It's just a click away.

How is it unfair discrimination? Is it unfair if i say a manga that a group of 14 year olds like sucks ? No because its my opinion on the manga and if you take a vote on the mange and record the age and gender you will find that most people of the same age group agree with each other. There will be exceptions but the majority of each age group will vote the same. That is of course if the manga is actually appealing to any age group/gender at all and doesn't just plain suck
When you read a comment you as the reader want to know a bit about the manga and the writers opinion on it. Now doesn't it make more sense to know a bit about the person your getting the information form? cuz im sure that most 14 year old kids and most 17 year old kids have different opinions on a manga. So if i see comments saying the manga sucks and comments saying its great i want to know who is writing it. If I see 5 comments saying the manga is good and 2 saying its bad most likely the people are gonna be from different age groups or genders.
Im not saying this will apply to all manga and of course there is an exception to every rule when it comes to grouping people by race , gender , and age.

is easy
Don't pay attention to comments that lack any sense or are plainly bad... is not about the person, is about the comment...
a comment is only good if it can give you a hint of what the manga is about without spoil anything, besides there are also the ratings, and the genre...
If you see a MATURE, you should expect mature content (If you dislike mature stuff like murders/rapes/etc) then you should get the heck away from there.
and the ratings can say a lot too, all the information is there, but if you choose to disregard everything and pay more attention to one sentence comments that my friend is your problem.

I dunno, the age thing kind of makes sense.
It's kind of silly if some young boy leaves a huge nasty review on yaoi just cause he's immature. Or any review on smut.
But there are some manga aimed towards certain age groups (demographics).
Age and sex make a big difference.
You guys are making such a big fuss over nothing.
It's not discrimination, it's normal. 🙄

is not discrimination, but is an useless feature
You can already get an overview of the content just by reading the genre list, there are the ratings and the series info... what else do you want? a magical guru that will appear every time you click on a series and will say "You will dislike it" or "You will love it" -_-
For example
I won't read Yaoi or Shounen AI, at least not willingly... so If I see any of those in a manga genre list, then I stop reading everything else and DROP it.
comments tend to spoil certain parts of the manga so is better to ignore them all together.
Now if you are losing interest in the series THEN is when you should read the comments, and see if it becomes better later on, or not

i dont get what the big deal is.... its just a suggestion to and a lil box that asks you to enter your age and gender... It doesn't destroy anything or add an inconvenience. Your already going out of your way to tell people about what you think about the manga so whats the big deal about telling them your age and gender unless your a 38 year old secret transvestite who's identity online is a 13 year old boy, but even then you can just type in that your a 13 year old male.
The thing is the genre doesn't help all the time. There are times where there are mangas from the same genre attract different people because ether of how the story is progressing / evolving , or the characters. Some people might like it and some might not and thats usually when the age and gender comes in.
Think of how music is and the different tastes people have. People of the same age group , gender and nationality most of the time like the same type of music but just like with everything else there are exeptions

I can see how some people may think that it's discriminating because the posters' reviews will be judged based on their age and gender.
Age and maturity/intelligence are codependent to a certain degree, but not everyone fits in that category. There are very young people who writes critical and comprehensible reviews.
And there will be reviews by males or females that will be disregarded by the opposite sex, no matter how great the review is.
Keeping everything anonymous is logical.
When I look at the reviews to get a feel of others' impression, the content and style is also a factor, as well as the synopsis of the series itself. Obviously, if it's written poorly with only a "kyaa! it suxs or good, etc." it won't hold much value.
I'm indifferent to the suggestion 😐

I tend to use comments as a guideline rather than a basis of judgement though if every comment I read tells me the manga is crap I'm going to be less willing to give it a go. I try to give a fair assessment on manga in my comments and give a general overview so I tend to look for similar comments and glaze over the short, one-lined gramatically terrible comments that really tell me nothing other than that particular person thought the manga was great/awful. I agree that tastes differ as you age, though I'm not sure gender is as influencial since I read more supernatural action male orientated manga than romantic female orientated manga but I think maturity can be duduced from the comments since maturity and age aren't alway interlinked.
While a box may be useful to some people I'm not sure how feasible it would be for MU to actually put in. It seems like it would be rather tricky (though I know nothing about website design)
The pen is mightier than the sword...and considerably easier to write with.
all of this dont bother me none. people are people and if they act how they normally do, it will be obvious what age and gender they are, thus rendering this feature useless.
the internet is a place for opinions. just let people say what they want to say without being criticized every moment.
The last thing we need is to have posts filled with MORE crap.

Maturity has nothing to do with age, nor does personal taste with gender. If you think the review is not quite intelligent, why to follow it? If you tought you'd like the manga, but you didn't, then just look for another.
Really, it's quite hard to associate taste with age/gender... It's very easy to find 16-yo teens who love old music and 40-yo adults who love pop, for an example.
Maybe it would be an interesting option, but, IMO, it's rather useless. And, as said before, if it bothers you so much, simply pick up the best reviews and look at their profiles.
