Douglas Adams, Richard Dawkins, Jostein Gaarder, Nick Hornby,J.K. Rowling,J.R.R Tolkien, Margaret Atwood.

Oh, I love Jonstein Gaarder too! His books are hard to find though, except for Sophie's World and Solitaire Mystery.

I've read those two(I didn't really like the Solitaire Mystery). I also liked the Orange Girl a lot too even if it's written for a younger audience(like most if not all of his books i guess)

My absolute favorite author would have to be Issac Asimov and I would put Orson Scott Card right behind him.

I'm horrible at remembering the names of authors >_>

Stephenie Meyer, Dan Brown, Khaled Hosseini, Louise Rennison, Marianne Curley, and Diane Duane

I like Mark Haddon's book The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time a lot <3. The big atheist writers Harris, Hitchens, Dawkins, and Dennett. I was going to put J.K. Rowling but after the last two books it is more accurate to say: "The author of books 1-5 of the Harry Potter series and all of the hilarious fanfiction authors." I love fantasy books, but not limited to them.

Ok, here's my list (this may be pretty long, also, it's in the order that I remember, I've read so much, I have forgotten alot of it):

C.S. Lewis

J.K. Rowling

Wu Cheng'en

Sun Tzu

Stephen King

H.P. Lovecraft

Philip K. Dick

George Orwell

Jeff Lindsay

William Gibson

Alan Moore (Yes, I know he writes comic books, but they're VERY exceptional)

This doesn't include any manga authors, because that'd be a seperate list entirely. 😀

My favorite authors in no particular order (except for the first)

Terry Pratchett
Robert Jordan
Joseph Heller (have only read Catch-22 from him but that only puts him on my list)
Ursula Guin
Douglas Adams
Jonathan Swift
Ray Bradbury
Garth Nix

So yeah, pretty much fantasy, sci-fi, and satire.

EDIT: Ack can't believe I forgot Card.

Robert Jordan
Nancy Farmer
Ralph Ellison

Jules Verne
David Eddings
Isaac Asimov
George Orwell
Tolkein
Mark Twain
Me. (Except for the obvious issue in that I am not yet published nor have I finished something to get published in the first place)

This list is in any random order:

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Agatha Christie
Eoin Colfer
Cornelia Funke
Gail Carson Levine
Douglas Adams (he wrote The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy)
J. R. R. Tolkien
all those Greek and Roman guys like Homer and Virgil

I have very mixed interests because I'm only 14. 😀
