When does one cross the line?

Anyway, I would guess that you can consider yourself a hardcore yaoi fan if you can't look at a cute guy without wondering what face he would make if another guy.... yeah, you know where I'm going with that thought.
Or how long it would take until he (secretly) began to enjoy it.
Oh dear, I know for sure I've crossed the line. 🤣
I think another determining factor would be if you think about your friends together and sit there and try to figure out who would be seme and who would be uke. Or when you think two close guy friends hanging out is adorable. Or when you immediately think "yaoi" or "kawaii" whenever two of your male friends playfully fight or tease each other. ... I have SO crossed that line. 😀

Ok, I know I haven't crossed those lines yet. =)
You can consider yourself a hardcore fan if you catch yourself thinking that "incest isn't so bad, if it's just a plot device..."
(I'm not sure how much yuri goes the incest route, but I know yaoi does it quite a bit.)
If you've ever thought or said "Nice Guys finish last" and really meant it, then you should probably read this LJ post by DivaLion. It's incredibly insightful whether you're male or female.

You can consider yourself a hardcore fan if you catch yourself imagining the ways of a male slumber party. Instead of the mindless chatter about guys/girls there would be mindless male buttsmexing. And instead of truth or dare, it'd be handcuffs or ropes. (Both of which can be used together.) Instead of sleeping, precious time can be wasted elsewhere, a HOLE lot of time can be used wisely you know...
Not that I think about that or anything~^-^

Oh my, I never thought about yuri incest. I don't consider the hentai girl/girl action incest so yeah. Do they even have yuris like that? 😐

I only know of one Kakera that I've read. I don't remember much of it though.

There's yuri incest out there. Most of the titles I can think of are hentai manga (such as chapter 3 of Shoujo Sect). But there's also the Candy Boy anime, which is not explicit at all and revolves around what seems to be an incestuous relationship between sisters.
Tree + Taco = Tree taco.
As many of our devoted members here have said, I think when you start imagining random people/people you know/celebrities in very explicit relationships with each other, and the faces they make while indulging in said explicit actions might make you pretty hardcore or close to crossing the line.
To actually cross the line... I don't really know to be honest. I don't find some of the things mentioned is way too bad. I guess when you realize that you are not trying to hook up your (straight) single friends with a member of the opposite sex, but with a very hot member of the same sex, hoping to get some nice videos of them together in the bedroom, or you base your 'crushes' on how they would look "getting freaky" with someone else of the same gender, it might be a red flag.
But, I don't think I'm even close to be considered hard hardcore, so 🤨

You're not alone XD.
To always have a malicious smile when there is interaction between two cute guys.
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.

Aw, man. I've definitely cross that line. Reminds me of that one freshman whom I've daydreamed of. Him getting raped, I mean. 😀 Too bad he's not gay.

Gah, blast you all for suggesting these things.....
I found myself tonight thinking about one of the players on the local hockey team and said to myself "Oh, he's totally the uke."

one crosses the like by reading yaoi/yuri period.
i am a guy and i hate yaoi (no duh)/yuri/hentai just dur to the fact that while we all love manga, we dont need to get off on drawings 🙁
i lied. some yuri and hentai is kinda funny but most is just...

🤢 after reading the above posts.
I am sure I am far away from the line and don't intend to ever cross it.
Enjoy yourself.

Apparently, despite being plenty odd myself, I am quite far from crossing this line. I don't ever fantasize about real people engaging in straight or homosexual relationships (even if they really are, I think that's their private life), and I usually don't think about romance between fictional characters unless it's a part of the original work.
The one thing yaoi has done to me is that it has made me wonder what kind of guy I would be if I were a character in a yaoi manga. Lately, I've thought I'd be a seme. silence

Well, there's some truth in that, but you have to realize that most yaoi is not equivalent to hentai. Most yaoi is not particularly more sexual than, say, My Balls, which is classified as ecchi. I would guess that on average less than 25% of a yaoi manga is sex and more than 75% is dialogue, drama, comedy, etc. And shounen-ai is less than 1% sexual, if at all.
Also, I'm not sure that girls "get off" on yaoi drawings the same way guys do off yuri and hentai. I've seen a lot of girls loving yaoi because it's cute and heartwarming, or because it's dramatic and interesting, or some other reason for which people usually follow romance mangas.
At any rate, I think it's healthier to fantasize about sex than violence. We don't consider people who enjoy mangas about people killing each other deviants, but I wonder why.

The original question was what's the line between a fan and a hardcore fan, so your statement doesn't make sense in regards to the original question.
