After watching Fatal Fury the Motion Picture I got hooked on anime.... I was young so yeah Mai Shiranui had a lot to do with it at the time....

I was watching Naruto on TV and decided I would read the manga as well.

my cousin's a "conservative" otaku, so he had love hina and gto in his collection. those were my first manga.

i watched "robotech" when i was a kid and some other old anime like "heidi" (well, little kids like animated 2d things) then i watched dragon ball, sailor moon, magic knight rayearth, etc, then i got into the world of internet and downloaded a lot of manga and anime. Now i only read manga mainly.

TV, they aired Macross SDF, heaven war shulato, and some old anime series when I was a kid, reading a manga was pretty much common in my country, there are many school girls read shoujo manga even they aren't otaku, they just read it casually.

I always watched anime on the action channel until I was old enough to start buying the DVDs myself. But manga I stumbled upon right when Love Hina started being published (Like second volume just came out) and Love Hina was the start of my manga craze...good series to start with IMO.

Yep, Robotech is where it started for me. It wasn't until Naruto did i get into Manga. I read the manga so i could get a glimpse into the future. (By american standards anyways) Turns out I was just way behind.

I've been watching anime since I was little. I would watched the dubbed version of Pokemon, Dragonball Z, and other ones. I really started to get into it when Naruto first started to air in the US when I was in about 6th grade. From then on, I started to collect manga and got into more series. 😛

i was nervous at first it was big & long & went straight up i had to try it i eased onto it & liked it! i went up & down on it.... i love escalators now! 😀

My dad and his old friend did it a long time ago. They watched tapes he got from Japan. So it was a such a long time ago 'dam beta' met the thing to play it on. 🤣 🤣

Nobody got me into anime/manga..
I once watched DGZ and stuff (although I didn't even know that it was an anime...).
I think I got really interested in manga after watchin Fruits Basket anime, after which I searched the net about the anime and found out it has a "manga". So I read it, and got hooked^^

I saw many people got into anime/manga by watching/reading Death Note..
Shame that my old computer crashed.. I couldn't finish it properly.. 😢

It was when I were eleven years (I think...). I got the last volume of Dragonball as a birthday present, and then my friend told me that I should buy the others, because they were so good. So I did.

Funny thing is, while I am, at the moment, completely obssessed with manga, (check my Wish List, then you'll understand) the friend of mine that told me all about how good Dragonball was, and thus made me start collecting, thinks that I'm totally nuts...
