So can you people bear to read a long 10+ volume shonen/seinen action manga with no girls just dudes flinging fists and baring knuckles?

The wording of the poll question immediately makes me think of those shounen mangas that are nothing but fight after fight after fight after fight unto infinity. Relentless and boring. In which case, hell no. It isn't so much the lack of girls that bothers me as the kind of manga that it immediately makes me think of.

I would actually rather read a manga with no girls and all fighting than read an ecchi shounen manga where all the girls have insanely large breasts and the protagonist gets too many nosebleeds and never ends up with any of the girls.

On that note... lolis ftw.

I'm not a yaoi fan but I wouldn't mind either. As long as it wasn't misogynistic about the lack of girls. I don't think you can create a world without women at least partially being around.

So let's assume it's just a story where there are few girls of importance for whatever reason. I mean dragon ball becomes this to some extent(at parts). I read a story about two guys stuck in a cabin during a blizzard that try to kill each other.

Yeah probably. Most of the time the girl always get in the way and it can get kind of annoying sometimes.

i agree. though both Crows and Worst are 2 of my favorite mangas it's always struck me as odd that there have never been any females on panel.

so yeah, i'd prefer gender diversity but at the end of the day a good manga's a good manga and thats all that really matters to me.

If having females can add some comedy in the shounen (as long as they're not annoying i.e. girl in Bakuman), I would definitely prefer to have some females. If not, then it doesn't really matter.

But now when I think back, one of my favorite manga is hikaru no go....so I think it really depends on the story. If the manga is anything like hikaru no go, I don't mind if all of the character are guys.

Btw, are you talking in romance concept or girl character generally. If you mean in romantic way,I can bear read long shounen manga without any romance subplot for example, manga like hunterxhunter, beelzebub,dragon ball.

But I will enjoy more if it has romance. 😃
