Can anyone recommend a good host-themed manga, in which at least one of the leading characters is a host? Whether the host is male or female doesn't matter; the genre also doesn't matter. Like, I'm okay with seinen or shoujo or whatever. JUST NO HENTAI, PLZ. Also, please only recommend stuff that has been scanlated or licensed! I can't read a word of Japanese.
I've read the following host stories (lol, host stories, not ghost stories!) so far:
Bloodhound
B.O.D.Y
Deep Love Host
H
Ouran Koukou Host Club
Also, a question... I've heard about "enjo kosai" which is, like, high school girls going out with guys for money. Is that considered different from being a hostess? If so, how is it different?
Anyway, I would also like any recommendations featuring "enjo kosai" - it's similar enough to being a host that I want to read about it.

Personally, I didn't really like these, but maybe you'll have a different opinion?

Um, that stuff seems a little too flowery and/or smutty for my taste! (Does explicit yaoi count as a kind of hentai? Lol.) Still, it's good to see that there is more host-type stuff out there.
By cafes, do you mean, like - maid cafes? But for guys? If that's possible, it sounds great! That's kind of host-like, too. I wouldn't mind recs for that, thanks. 🙂

Umm... I'm not quite sure what you mean... Like a butler cafe? Or do you want a maid cafe?
If it's butler cafe, unfortunately all I know are BL stuff. Sorry! 😛

Oh! I'm fine with BL, as long as it isn't too explicit! Like, you know. Same reason I'm not reading hentai. No personal prejudice involved - I just want host manga that isn't mainly about the smut. 😀

"Enjo kosai" and hosts are not the same. Enjo kosai has a connotation of illegal child prostitution and underage girls being exploited though I've heard it's not always the case. 🙄
MOMOCHI Reiko has works tackling enjo kosai.

WOW, base_coat! That mangaka has some excellent stuff! Thanks so much for the rec! And also for the explanation. 🙂 Japanese cultural phenomena like enjo kosai are so interesting and, to a foreigner like me, very fascinating.
