hmmm...i'm at ch73 right now...so Asuna is of royal blood eh? and they took her away..i think there is really a big part of parallel dimension or time-travel thing goin on based from what you guys are saying..coz nagi was just 15yrs old 10yrs ago right?so by normal time, he couldn't have fathered Negi by that time, and the question of Negi's mother is too vague..she was not even in the picture...

so where and when was negi conceived?and at this point of time(ch73), his "sister" is even a bigger question..but i guess she's not a real sister?is she one of the comrades(red wing?)..maybe she's the mother? following this logic i am giving up the idea of negi is nagi...but the idea of parallel dimension or time travel still gives that hunch a possibility right?

i think his sister is actually his aunt as in nagi's sister. in the next 80 chapters things will become crazy.

different dimensions/relmns and time traveling are confirmed as you'll soon find out well actually the manga told us that thier was another universe/relmn from the beginning.

hahaha...so if negi's sister is nagi's sister in fact, then my hunch could be right...

hmmm..yes my idea has possibilities..so far the story doesn't focus on the background of the characters, more like the day to day school life activities..and as you confirmed the time travel or parallel dimension thing, its probability is getting bigger..and if i am right, then the idea of a mother is disregarded as with the father-son angle...just the love story between the pair..and following the mangaka's style(love hina)...i am still positive about my bet..

To clear it up a little in Japanese Negi calls her Ne-san, which means big sister so they translated it that way. In reality many Japanese call elder female family members by that moniker, such as cousins and even close family friends. I believe she's not actually his direct blood sister but a more distant blood realitve like a cousin.

possible for 15 years old Nagi to amrry and have kids IF given that he stayed in the resort for some time eg. Takamichi is probably younger than Nagi but in 1 flashback he looks a lot older than Nagi

if he stayed 103 real days in the resort he would be 17

i think it's 100% sure... coz it already stated that Time Travel is not possible by magic.... i think both Setsuna and Chamo did say "something like no spell in the world can do it" and the Athena or Cassiopeia only can works with a very high magical power like the World Tree power as a catalyst... so it kinda ruled out the chance of Nagi= Negi to almost zero...

i just fin reading volume11, and started the 1st few pages of ch100...

i saw something fishy again, gatou-sama sure looks like takamichi...at this point time travel and 2 bodies of one being co-existing is a fact in the manga, right?...so a younger nagi(negi) meeting the older("father") one is possible..hehehe...

stubborn punk!!! well, its just that the mangaka sure likes to play with love that trancends time and space...this is still a romantic comedy so guess playing with the 2main characters love life is just his style...just like in love hina, the couple met at a very young age, made a promise with each other, and after how many years they met again, not really recognizing each other at first but they still end up together at the end...and the way i see it, he made a twist here in this manga..at first the girl is the younger one who likes an older man(nagi) and then supported by time-travel-parallel-dimension-supernatural-event/power blah-blah, at the present time he turned it around...negi is younger, and asuna is the one older...

the writer/artist is just showing that if its real love, whatever happens, they'll be together, their love will find a way to recognize each other...but only after a very long struggle or journey..

still just a hunch though...i still have along way to go but so far, i didnt read anything to make me give up this idea..reading along the way strengthened my idea even..

well technically your right but their is one thing that proves you wrong. unlike negi, nagi was an idiot. if you remember back to the chapter where Evangeline was explaining her relationship with nagi in the flash back nagi states that he failed magic academy and only knew a couple spells. and we all know negi is magic prodigy who passed magic academy with top marks. negi could also memorize spells while nagi needed to read them out of this book he has. thats it for now thiers something i want to say but that would ruin alot of things

hmmm, good point bro...yeah i remember that flashback w/ eva...was it true though?seems like Nagi was well renowned and so strong, 1000 masters right?maybe he was like playing around, just messing with the child-like eva...so far only eva gave that detail about nagi...or is it a confirmed fact in the later chapters?

well if its true, maybe it has something to do with time travel?like it happened already or is just about to happen, like in the festival?he did things before he knew it...or something happened that they forgot somehow?just like asuna, she doesnt remember anything about her being a princess and having a crush on Nagi...or was it explained already later on?

Also remember, however, the Nagi flashback was Eva's dream she very well may have a skewed perspective of him, ie making him looks dumber than he actually is and such. I sure wouldn't put it past her, not to mention the fact that she was still very angry at Nagi at that point of the storyline. So we can't be sure if nagi failed because he was stupid, just didn't like the way that he was being taught, or simply thought they were going too slow for his "obvious" genius (I could really see this kind of thing from Nagi). Still I'm pretty sure Nagi/Negi and Gatou/Takamichi are different people both for the power reasons and what happens at the tournament.
