Considering that where I live is a xenophobic little country that mixes up manga with J-rock with Pokemon with sushi with origami, bringing up the issue of "manga" usually turns out like "oooh that stuff with lots of big eyes and boobs" "the stuff with ****"the creepy stuff" and the most common of all "grow the fuck up, are you STILL watching cartoons?"

So it's a wise idea not to bring up the subject between people I don't know too well. I test them by just bringing it up casually but 99% of the time I failed completely sigh. It's my main source of receiving weird looks.

most of my friends dont know whats M/A just 2 know 1 onething naruto lol they just see it anime i dont really care........ 😃

I know those looks, when I try to bring up M/A in my conversations they all say "Shut up, weirdo!!"

I think I talk with only one person about M/A, but that's it. With the others I don't mention a word about it, and I would be like the less likeliest to have such kind of hobby. o.O

I work at a game company. There's a large percentage that watch anime reguarly. The majority of the rest of my friends are Asian, many lived overseas. Thus, I fall in the category of, "Coincidentally, all of my friends have watched at least one anime in their lifetime."

Of course, anime/manga's only one of my hobbies. I have plenty of others that don't deal with it at all (primarily games: video- and board- and card-), so I don't really care one way or another.

Unfortunately, going out and getting drunk at a bar isn't one of my hobbies, so it makes it somewhat more difficult for me to pick up chicks, especially since I'm in the one place in the US with the highest male:female population ratio.
