I think it will be like many other shonen in the end. some hint about romance and suddently a some years after they are married and have 1/2 child. and the story stop here or follow the child story.
Shonen manga always zap the love story part to go directly to the deep relationship (but not talk about it)

You guys like it, admit it. Sakura/Naruto is still pretty unlikely at this point. If anything it's intended to be as a reminder as to the similarities between the Sannin and the 3 main characters. The relationship they all have is pretty interesting actually.
