bands? Or just artist in general?

If you mean just in general, I think Lupe Fiasco.

I mean he might be overratted depending on your prespective but I think that Lupe Fiasco is really underratted or at least too overlooked.

I have friends listening to some other mainstream rap and it doesn't compare in articulated verse, if that makes any sense. laugh

I'vr might have missed something... If I have I'll edit this post... :/

Lupe is definitely underrated against the more mainstream guys. I prefer a Kweli or Gangstarr to him, though.

+ 1 to UNKLE.

I'd like to add Sonata Arctica (gotta love some good European power metal).

Thank you. I am currently having difficulties procuring the proper recording instrumentation, so production has been post poned.

True, true Nothern European power metal is godly, but Sonata Arctica is pretty well-known (atleast in here) compared to stuff like Lost Horizon, Rhapsody, and After Forever.

Coaltar of the deepers (alternative/shoegaze)
Suicide Ali (industrial, the rare kind of good indies visualkei)
Headphones president (...screamo with a female lead. 'nuff said).
Instrumental stuff from Shape of Despair, I hate their vocalist >.< (funeral doom, I think)
and Mago de Oz (Spanish folk-rock).

...oh yeah and rap. It's a genre in general that's stigmatized because the abundance of the "women=prostitutes" ideas, cars, money and people bragging of the number of shots they've received.
And that's what gives a bad name to all the good rap bands out there when people automatically assume they talk about sex, drugs, violence and more retarded violence.

So you're saying that rap is underrated as a genre?

And on the metal tip, Gojira, Down, Crowbar, Eyehategod, Corrosion of Conformity and The Sword are all underrated.

@ahoaho: Pretty much smile . Rap as in good rap, not MTV rap.
I meant underrated not as in not appreciated, but far too less known and even misunderstood. I meant all the good bands as a whole because I can't seem to remember any names ;_;..and most of them are just local bands anyway.

Just checked out Gojira, seeing as you mentioned them in another thread (metallz one?).
<3 the drumming biggrin

I hope that makes sense, I'm not among the most awake persons right now @_@
