MUSE is the one of the best band ive ever seen but why arent they famous??
if i give one of there song like unintended u will say why arent they famous LOL 😀
AND i have a question system of down r they famous(overrated) or underrated? 😕actually, muse is famous, at least where i am. how does famous = overrated (which they are)?
I don't think that muse is THAT overrated, seeing as many non-musicians don't know them
oh, sorry i was actually addressing soad as being overrated

I might stray from the topic a bit here, but luckily it's the Internet and no serious harm or damage can be inflicted upon me.
I'm always confused as to the term "underrated" - I'll construe it, in order to serve my points, as meaning a relatively small fan-base compared to the talent they possess. Forgive me while I delve into my folk roots.
Martin Sexton - I'm tempted to rant since I love his music with a burning passion and I tend to get very vocal about it. I'll spare you. I will, however, state that I think he's the most underrated artist of our time. John Mayer said it best, "I may just quit my job and go follow Martin and make a fuss everywhere I go, just to make sure that people don't go their lives without hearing this man sing to them."
Stan Rogers
Eva Cassidy
Janis Joplin
Wide Mouth Mason
Tom Waits
Seconded Iron & Wine
It's psychosomatic. You need a lobotomy. I'll get a saw.

Have not heard of half the people on that list.
Disagree on the Janis Joplin, agree on the Tom Waits.

The Mars Volta (Prog / Acid / Punk Rock)
Kyoto Jazz Massive (Electronica / Jazz)
Hybrid (Symphonic / Breakbeat / Electronica / Progressive)
Athlete (Brit Indie Rock)
Everything but the Girl (Electronica / House)
Andy Timmons (Not a band...Solo Guitarist)
Just a few examples....it depends on the genre you're into.
The best music is that which you have yet to discover.
😎
Edit:
Oh.... I forgot to mention Nujabes (trip hop/electronica).... real name Jun Seba. The guy who did the OST for Samurai Champloo. His albums/records/live performances/dj sets are sick!!

I was gonna talk about Mars Volta but Bedlam in Goliath was just a shoddy mish mash of sound, I loved them up until that point but the album was a dissapointment in every way.
Edit:
Oh.... I forgot to mention Nujabes (trip hop/electronica).... real name Jun Seba. The guy who did the OST for Samurai Champloo. His albums/records/live performances/dj sets are sick!! Nujabes is very much a hip/hop producer....
*Gives Controversy an online high five for seconding my Iron and Wine love and mentioning Martin Sexton.

If we're taking "Bands" literally, the four immediately above this don't count.
And I must post, House of Freaks. This definitely bends the "Currently making music" rule, but I have to do it. They were terribly underrated when they were making music. '88 to '94 or '96 (I forget which. Might've been '95, even). Since then, the lead singer and his entire family were brutally murdered before their house was burned down on top of their corpses, but, y'know...yeah. This is one of the groups that took the brunt of proving that a two man set with no bass--just guitar and drums--could pull it off. It didn't hurt that they didn't play minimalist and excuse it with their size. Bryan Harvey could put out a wall of sound worthy of two guitars, play complex riffs and sing at the same time. Nifty. The drummer was also more than awesome, playing oftentimes on whatever the hell he felt like playing on.

Jill Scott, she may have won/been nominated for quite a few awards but it's like she may be popular but she's not FAMOUS none of my friends know who she is... Which is ashame b/c she's way talented, her has a wide vocal range that many famous artist don't have.
