I really want the guy ( who is popular) to fall in love first. I want the girl to actually be "ugly" and not turn pretty or anything, but has a cute,weird personality. It would be nice if the girl was dense, im a huge fan of the hot guy falls in love first with a super dense girl kind of mangas. I have literally never found a manga like this with an "ugly "girl in all my years of browsing. Even if it doesn't completely fit the brief, please tell me 🙂
Also: I really want it to be sweet, not smut 🙂

There is Warau Kanoko-sama and its sequel Koi da no Ai da no. She isn't ugly, but she is definitely not what most consider beautiful. Mostly I would just call her plain. Also, she is very smart but EXTREMELY dense when it comes to personal relationships.

Fat Cinderella!!

I went by categories only and just looked at all the entries for Fat Female Lead and these should fit the criteria of a genuinely overweight love interest who is also utterly unattractive at the same. Only 1/3 of the tag´s entries lead to entries about overweight women as it is just assigned to lots of porn and big breasted women btw. Sigh but manga about fat protagonists are very rare and these tend to be easy on the eyes (which fails your criteria). Bara no Tame ni or Cousin may be great homely isn´t ugly to give examples.

Jungle no Ouja Ta-chan is too long and works better as an anime. His wife used to be a very attractive teen porn star in America (great use of research...) and is now an ugly blob as she let herself go. She can also change shape with fruits. (i remembered it on my own and just set a few categories.)

(My Lovable Fatty fits but it is a pile of nonsense that i can´t recommend.)

Uchuu o Kakeru Yodaka I am not sure what the author intends with the supernatural elements overall but the protagonist was body jacked and now looks less human then a kappa. Don´t expect subtlety or complexity but it´s a fine enough read. Ugly Female Lead was apparently invented for the manga so feel free to start using it dear community.

You need to switch to independent American comics or Bande dessinée if you want to get lucky as these have a way higher variety of protagonists and to a lesser degree topics than manga. Read my post in the tread Eating Disorders for a few suggestions.
