in case theres no liquid in the glass, it would be empty, the air should not be considered since glass with/out air doesnt really fit the logic behind the idea of ''glass of water/liquid''...
so... if the glass contains water, no matter how much, it is not empty. However, it isnt full either unless the capacity of the glass is reached by filling in water.
alas:
glass 0% filled with water = empty
glass 0% < x% < 100% filled with water = not empty, also not full
glass 100% filled with water = full
according to this logic, theres no definite word for the state which the water in the glass hasnt reached the limit.
lets think in numbers...
0 = empty
100 = full
1-99 = well..
numbers from 1 to 49 is nearer to 0(empty) than to 100(full)
numbers from 51 to 99 is nearer to 100(full) tjan to 0(empty)
the ''distance'' of the number 50 to 0 is equal to the ''distance'' to 100.
conclusion:
0% = empty
1-49% = rather empty than full
50% = as empty as full
51-99% = rather full than empty
100% = full
ofc.. u can say when the the glass is filled with 1%(99%), its almost empty(full)...
then again, almost depends on the relation u take therefore not a definite description.
sry for my bad english 😛 hope u get my point 😀
there is no point in this question....
I believe it's more logical to say it's half full
but, I say half empty for some reason...
i guess both do for me

I hear you say "Why?" Always "Why?" You see things; and you say "Why?" But I dream things that never were; and I say "Why not?"

Half full.
<---pokes self-declared title
It's half full, because it can't be half empty. 🤣

Depends on the situation and the circumstances
Was it full before and then some spilled from it?? then its half empty
Was only half of the glass filled with liquid?? then its half full
No one gives a shit what trite garbage you write here.

Either way I see it, it is lacking ice cubes and some lemon juice...
But I chose half empty...
Imagine two half empty glasses beside each other, could they be empty as a whole?

seems like everybody in this thread is either trying too hard to be philosophical, or they're taking the question too literally lol

You need a third option.
Im neither a pessimest(half empty) or an optimist(half full) I am a realist and i say the glass is just too big. 😀

If people ask you if the cup is half empty or half full.. you should just 'Yes' that answers the question without saying its either half empty or half full! 😀

The glass is twice as big as it needs to be 🤨
Half full. Like temperature. It's how much 'warmth' there is to something, not how much 'cool' there is.

If its being filled its half full. If its being emptied its half empty.
