I couldn't really follow your minimum/maximum explanation attempt, but I can point out an obvious flaw in the below:

Quote from Calíbre

So then:
50% empty = half empty = 0
50% empty = half 0ml = 0
50% empty = 50% of 0ml = 0
still stands.

If the glas is 50% empty then the rest must be 50% not empty. So 50% empty can never be 0 because one would neglect the rest that makes up the 100%.

To make this clear, imagine a graph where the vertical axis is fullness and the horizontal axis is emptiness. A line is drawn from 100% fullness to 100% emptiness and exactly in the middle of that line we've got a point that is 50% empty as well as it is 50% full.

Also you could express the emptiness not in the amount of water but in the amount of free space in the glass. If the glas is empty the free space is maximal and 50% of that certainly won't be zero.

The minimum maximum limit explanation proves that the minimum value of a cup is NOT ALWAYS equal empty. My definitions prove this, for 0 is a constant, and the minimum value =/= 0 in all cases.

therefore saying max limit= full, and min limit= empty is not true.

Max limit= full. Min limit =/= empty.

I agree with the whole graph concept, but you can only apply percentages to fullness and emptiness if the max = full and min = empty. This is not the case either, because I then proved that empty isn't even a sound limit to have.

But whatever. If you want to continue this, PM me.

The glass is half full when I just filled it, and half finished when I'm almost done. Its all relative to the reality I'm looking at.

Quote from Dissidence

if it was full beforehand and half was drunk then it's half empty
if it was empty beforehand and filled to half then it's half full

Quote from Calíbre

The glass is half full when I just filled it, and half finished when I'm almost done. Its all relative to the reality I'm looking at.

Simply this, It depends on the situation.
