Half full.
Doesn't matter if it was filled halfway, emptied halfway, or magically appeared at the halfway level.
Glass of water?
In here we serve whiskey.

depends,am i going to drink it or just look at it?
A glass can be half full, but it can't be half empty. (0 * (1/ 2) = 0).
Thus the phrase half empty is erroneous.
Therefore if you're looking at the glass half empty, then you're a pessimist... and you're wrong.

Has already been proven wrong:
100% empty * (1/2) = 50% empty = half empty
Look up my post on p.3 for further reference.
And pessimism has its merits, too, you know, preventing recklessness for instance. It only sucks when it makes you want to give up.
So my way is the middle way: Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
If only I knew what that meant in glass-of-water-terms.

That would be true, but since we're getting scientific there still a problem.
Given a maximum and minimum value we can say 50% max or 50% min. Cool.
But that's not whats being said here.
(!!BREAKDOWN!!)
Maximum = the greatest quantity or amount possible, assignable, allowable
Full = something of value has ocuppied all space within a given volume = maxlimit or 100%
Minimum = the least quantity or amount possible, assignable, allowable
Empty = nothing of value within a given volume = 0ml
Full is equal to Maximum, for full is assignable, allowable, and possible.
Empty is not equal to Minimum, for Empty is possible, and allowable, but not assignable, because it is a constant value.
As you can see, min limit does not equal empty. It can in some cases, but not in every case.
So then:
50% empty = half empty = 0
50% empty = half 0ml = 0
50% empty = 50% of 0ml = 0
still stands.
Saying the glass is half empty is still erroneous for it is not always the minimum limit. A minimum limit can be given a scale, but empty can not.
And since we're still in scientific mode, there will still be some left over water until we dry out the glass, so even when we've finished our drink, its nearly impossible to drink EVERY last drop. We usually stop when we've determined that little corner isn't worth the hassle of tapping the bottom of the cup over ones face. Therefore empty isn't even a sound minimum limit to have. (In this case)
ANYWAYS!
If you were to say the glass is half finished... that would shut me up, because YOU the owner of the cup have the POWER to decide WHEN you are FINISHED with your cup. Can you feel the Power? lol
And how can you be pessimistic when you just finished something? That's always positive! (Unless you finish the last beer... or vacation... or undergrad) Damn... I just depressed myself... I'm going to sleep. 😢
