does anyone know of a manga that has romance where, when it's focused on the girl, the girl doesn't end up with the:

1. cool guy opposed to the nice/(normal?) guy
2. mysterious guy opposed to the simple guy
   or something of the sort. you'll know what im talking about if you read enough shoujos and etc.
   although im basically asking for a spoiler... i'm so sick of ALWAYS rooting for the guy that never wins!! because i just tend to love simple, cute guys better. 🤣

Mangas that i've read that have this are:

1. Ouran High School Host Club (you can pretty much tell. Plus, even if she ended up with Hikaru he's still the type i like) and Saboten no Himitsu Sorry, i felt the need to bbcode it because it does seem like a spoiler 🙄

yep yep, i just don't get why the girl has to always like the 'exciting' guy more 😔

I'm with you there, I always end up really liking the guy that never wins... I like the funny ones or the bad boys with that soft awkward side becasue it's cute. The only one that surprised me in that the female didn't end up with the one I thought she typically would be Hana Yori Dango (don't know if you have read it). The art put me off at first, but it does generally get better and the story is pretty good for a shojo, even though I felt it dragged a little bit near the end.

Cat Street is a great read like this. Highly recommended.
Zettai Kareshi can probably count for this too, but it's right at the end of the story.
Uwasa no Midori-kun perhaps. (I guess it depends on which guy you're rooting for. The one I was hoping for does, and I think it fits what you're asking for.)

thanks for the reccomendations! 😀 😀 and i liked zettai kareshi and saruyama after reading it (still reading midori), but i had read cat street formerly and i dont really think the guy she ended up with was anything simple or cute. if i had to classify him, he'd be the cool, mysterious, but awkward guy. 😐

#1 said "the nice/normal" guy. He should qualify as that. =)

I know a lot of people don't really like it, but I guess Parfait Tic fits what you want.

She ends up eventually with Daiya. A lot of people really wanted her to end up with Ichi, but I prefer Daiya so much more.

Another one is, Hana Yori Dango, although someone already mentioned it. Hmm... Lovely Complex? I know some but I can't really remember. And Fruits Basket too. Yeah.

And yeah, I like simple/nice/funny guys better too. I always root for the underdogs. 😉
