Shoujo with certain art~
Hello!
I'm not looking for the shoujo with the elaborate hairstyles and the crazy huge eyes. Instead, I'd like to read shoujo with art like TAKAGI Shigeyoshi, MORIE Satoshi and/or MATSUMOTO Tomo. I love how everything looks simply drawn... there's a particular elegance about that simplicity. Any suggestions? :]
EDIT: Erm, no yaoi/yuri/smut please! >_<

You are like the dense main character in a shoujo manga.

Josei mangakas (but don't let that deter you!)
YOSHINO Aki -- though I am cheating as she's a josei mangaka... but her stories are very soft, warm, and fluffy. 😀
SAHARA Mizu - try reading Bus Hashiru and Nanairo Sekai... you can try reading her other works, but just as a warning, she's got a knack for tragedy.
Shoujo:
MIDORIKAWA Yuki -- her art is more on the "sketchy" side of the spectrum, but her stories are nice... like the title one-shot Hotarubi no Mori E (story 2) and Natsume Yuujinchou (watch the anime for this one!!)
Shiawase Kissa Sanchoume -- simple hair... it's cute one (well, in my opinion).
Oresama Teacher - shounen style art, but it's classified as shoujo (and pretty funny to boot!)
I know I shouldn't judge by the cover (haven't read this one yet), but Haruyuki Bus?
Maybe something by MIDORIKAWA Yuki just because it was the first thing I thought about when I read your post, but nevermind, a person beat me already 🤣

Sorry! But *high five for being on the same wavelength 🤨
you mean like TSUDA Masami
or AOGIRI Natsu
what about Naked Ape from Dolls or Switch
MIDORIKAWA Yuki...
NAKAMURA Asumiko from I Am a Piano or Katakoi no Nikki Shoujo
KANNO Aya
KAMIO Youko
TAMURA Yumi
Ichtys
maybe YOON Mi-kyung
I'm probably getting off track...
argh- I can't believe I forgot TAKAO Shigeru, a nice art style and a 'elegant' feel to it in shoujo terms

I hear you say "Why?" Always "Why?" You see things; and you say "Why?" But I dream things that never were; and I say "Why not?"

Try NISHIKATA Mai, she's the first one I thought of when I read your choice of authors (though I'm not really sure...)

HIDAKA Banri.
I always picture lace when I read her works because her inking is so fine and pretty, and it's fairly plain. Not super-sparkly.

@hobbitelf518:
Yoshino Aki - The only one I read from her is the Nonchan one. I'll try her other series. :]
Yumeka Sumomo - I've read a LOT of her works already. I'll keep a look out for anything else that pops up. 😀
Midorikawa Yuki - I've read a little bit from her... I'll try reading her other series.
Shiawase Kissa Shinchoume - Read a little bit then dropped... Might see if I can get into it the second time.
Oresama Teacher - I read the first couple volumes and then stopped. I'll try to take it up again.
Sankyuuuu!
@tsuto:
... Hehe. Thank you anyways. :3
@sweetnsour321
Tsuda Masami - The only thing I read from her is Eensy Weensy Monster. I'll try others~
Aogiri Natsu - Ah!!! So cute and pretty!
Naked Ape - Erm... Not really the genres I'm looking for...
Nakamura Asumiko - I love this author. I've already read many things from her, including the two you suggested. :]
Kanno Aya - I'm currently reading Otomen. 😀
Kamio Youko - I'm currently reading Matsuri Special! Although the chappies rarely come out...
Tamura Yumi - Hmm...................
Ichtys - Read a little bit of Superior... like the art, but couldn't get into it. ._.
Yoon Mi-Kyung - Hm, the art is nice. Not really a manhwa person, but I'll try these.
Takao Shigeru - Oh, pretty!
Thank you for all the suggestions!
@cutiefee:
Nikishita Mai - I've read her shorter works, and I'm currently reading Cyboy. :]
Thank you!
@password99:
Chiba Kozue - Um... Not exactly what I'm looking for, but I'll try reading something from her...
Thank you though!
@WeeklyManga-chan:
Hidaka Banri - Hm. Interesting. I'll try her stuff. xD
Thanks!

I checked out your reading list and did not see Kimi ni Todoke! I don't know if you've tried it and decided you didn't like it, but Shiina Karuho's art is on the simple side.
Izumi Asuka started out with simple, elegant art, but over time, her female characters' eyes grew bigger. For, um, more mature-looking characters, read Yuki-doke no Netsu. If you haven't already, that is.
I adore Konno Kita's art. There's something graceful about her lines.
Yokobaba Ryo's art has been compared to Matsumoto Tomo's, though, personally, I don't agree. (I think their styles are distinctive in their own right.)
I see that you've been reading the Arcana anthologies. Kayase Shiki and Takayama Shinobu get my vote.
Taamo draws huge eyes, but her style is simple and unique.
I also recommend works by Hikawa Kyoko.
Higashimura Akiko of Kuragehime fame, perhaps?
Eek, I'm forgetting Saitou Ken and Miyako Ritsu, but you've probably already read all the available scanlations of their works.
Keep an eye out for these mangaka when their works get scanlated:
Suzuki Yufuko
Nishi Keiko—her art is very stylistic, so it might not be for everyone.
