Which first? Manga or anime?

If you found a manga/anime series and you wanted to watch/read it. Which would you go for, the manga or the anime. Assuming the anime is a good anime and it follows the manga (no fillers, plot changes, etc.). If both, which first? And why or why not? Please explain.
(Note: Please no 'depends on the series'. I'm saying in general and you wouldn't really know the series that well because you haven't even tried it yet.)

Manga, I don't watch anime Ô_Ö
This week's favorites:
ççççççç[Ô.Ô] tsutopodus© will eat your manga and steal your cats!
Manga...I'm too time constrained and I find reading the manga gets me through the story faster cause the anime forces you to listen at their pace...

Anime. I prefer watching to reading; I'm that lazy.

Manga, because I find the plot to be more intriguing, and watch anime later to see if they stay true to the source.
See ya!

Manga. I don't watch much anime as it is, and if the anime is based on a manga there's no way I'd watch the anime first.
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.

If I had a fantasy self, it'd be a tentacle monster.

Well, that's true, but it's still easier. I don't have go from panel to panel, and page to page, I just sit back and watch as everything happens in motion.
And my most preferred format is dubbed anime, which requires no reading (though due to my impatience, I end up watching more subbed stuff).

Both, manga first. And then the anime if it's good enough to capture my attention.
Though it was the opposite for me in the beginning cause I always watched the anime first(IE: Naruto, Bleach, Full Moon wo Sagashite, Major, Ookiku Furikabutte)

Manga, especially since anime is usually little more than a cheap imitation.

The OP did say that if the anime was just as good as the manga...(ex. Monster)
Just a reminder that this thread should be a discussion on what you would look at first if both were on equal standards and why...not a comparison between them. We already have a thread for that here
